"sweetie! wake up!" My mom shouted through my bedroom door. I groaned and covered my head with the pillow. I was definitely not used to waking up this early yet.

Today was the first day of senior year, and I was actually really excited. I had my close group of friends, and all I wanted to do this year was have fun and live it up basically.

After taking a quick shower, I changed into a white cute sundress, that showed off my tan, and just quickly brushed my platinum blonde hair as I put on a little bit of makeup.

"Morning mum, dad" I said, as I kissed both of their cheeks as I poured myself some tea into a on-the-go mug and grabbed a muffin from the counter as I left for school.

"have a good day" they said, as I went to my car and drove to school.

"Aly!" my best friend Carrie Brown said as I parked my car right next to hers. Ever since last year when the seniors left, the now seniors took over the senior parking lot and 'claimed' our spots. All of my friends parked in the same area; it was tradition.

"Hey Carrie! You look great! How was your summer? I've missed you" I said, as I hugged her once I got out of the car. She smiled widely at me, and hugged me tightly.

"I've missed you too! And don't even get me started, you look phenomenal. Where did you go this year?" She asked.

"Italy" I said smiling, and she giggled as we went towards the school, greeting all of our friends and saying hi to everyone.

I went on a trip every year over the summer to a great place because, well, my parents were pretty wealthy. My dad was CEO of some large business, so we were relatively well set off.

But see, my parents were good parents. They had made me work and get a job over the summer to make me "experience the real world" so I now had a decent amount of money to myself.

I wasn't one of those spoiled little brats. To be honest, I was more into my studies than gossip and drama. That's what my friends are for. They absolutely loved drama, for example, what they were talking about now...

"Did you see her? I mean, really? She looks like such a skank" one of my other good friends Tara said as she commented on one of the freshman who walked by. Carrie and our other friend Nina laughed.

"Yeah, she looked hideous" Carrie commented.

"Oh my goodness, it's Brett. He looks even better this year" Nina commented.

As the rest of the girls immediately looked towards him, basically snapping their necks, I took my time a little bit, looking in my peripheral vision to see him.

Brett Kensington was undoubtedly the hottest guy in the grade. His father was a very well-known doctor here so he was also pretty wealthy like me.

However, Brett is what most consider "a bad boy": he rides his motorcycle everywhere, wears his leather jacket all the time, parties, but never dates anyone. Everyone thinks he thinks he's "too good" for anyone here.

As I looked over, I already could see his blue-gray eyes staring at me. I smiled a little smile as he smiled back and nodded at me.

"hey Aly" he said, and then headed down the hallway with his jock friends. He was on the football and basketball team as well.

When I turned back to my friends, they were all gaping at me.

"what?" I asked, getting my books for the rest of the day.

"What just happened? Why did Brett Kensington say hi to you? Oh my gosh, he likes you!" They all whispered excitedly. I rolled my eyes.

"Guys, stop. I'm going to class, and you all should too" I said, and headed to my first period class which was AP Calc BC. Yeah, i'm pretty smart..like geeky smart.

Brett's POV

She looked gorgeous, as usual.

Who am I talking about? Alyxandria Smith...but most people call her Aly.

This whole summer I spent with her, as we worked at the same day campfor little kids together. Our parents thought it would be good for us to get "real job experiences". I really didn't want to do it at first, but once I knew she was working there, I was happy.

I've liked her ever since I first saw her when I moved here in 3rd grade. She was quite shy, but beautiful... same as right now actually. Aly's brilliantly smart, and I never really talked to her until this summer.

We hung out at the camp all the time, and then usually hungout afterwards, watching movies and going on dates and everything. We had gotten really serious, and even, after a party we both went to after camp ended for all of the counselors, we got drunk and...you know what.

It happened just two weeks ago, and we hadn't really talked to eachother since, as she went to Italy and I began working at my father's office. He wanted me to become a doctor like him, and I wanted to too. I was actually smarter than I let most people know, besides my parents and teachers.

I walked into AP Calc, and saw Aly sitting off to the side. I smiled inwardly, and took the desk next to hers.

"Hey" I said, and she looked at me and smiled slightly.

"Hey, how are you?" She asked.

"Good, better now. How are you? How was Italy?" I asked, taking my math stuff out.

"It was great. How was the rest of your summer?" She asked.

"Alright. Just worked with my dad basically" I replied, and she nodded.

Then class began, and  we both went straight to work.
