There was a really long pause. He nodded and she started talking
" Maya" my mom said " we really did not want to tell you this until you were 21 but time isn't really on our side" she added.
My heart skipped a beat and then went twenty times faster
" What could it be" I thought. Like a million things went through my mind at that time, my head felt light and dizzy. Why was this happening on my birthday.
My mom continued " Maya your real dad is a strigoi "
What? I asked. Was this a joke or something?
I remember Mr Hanks my history teacher telling us something about the strigoi but I was too preoccupied with my best friend talking about something between a new horror movie to a prank we were supposed pull on someone for me to listen. Why was I so easily distracted in class.
"What is a strigoi?" I asked
" They are dark evil spirit, the strongest of all kinds of spirit" she answered.
Now this was a complete joke.How could my father be a spirit?
