The Angel of the Hourglass(UNEDITED)

Chapter 1: What Am I?

"We call to court the angel of The hourglass. Please rise" the speaker said. Everyone rose and I stepped up to the court podium.

"As angel of the hourglass. I hold the very valuable and secret hourglass. In the wrong hands means that disaster can strike. I am in charge of who comes and goes on this planet. Watching the hourglass take its final drop and a person take their final breath" I explained

"And what shall your point be Angel of the hourglass ?"asked the angel of sun.

"Because of the position I was in before I was appointed this position, I am the holder of something I don't want to be. I am in charge of the living transitioning to the dead. I don't think that an hourglass should determine the time a person has on this earth. Before I came here, no one had this position! Now all of a sudden BOOM, I'm the Angel of the hourglass " I added.

The court laughed.

"Reith , you were given this because you have everything needed to be this Angel. Your position is one of the most important and sacred positions! You use this for determining that time is up for those who have lived a good life. Not for killing. It's hard finding someone who won't use this for their own Benefit. Be gone now no complaining" said the speaker as he vanished me back to the human world.

I sighed as I ended up at school and looked at the tiny hourglass on my neck. You see, I am an angel that roams the earth, my hourglass begins counting down when I pass someone who is due for either suffering or old age. I can also stop a death from occurring if it is untimely. I cannot kill, I can only watch over those who are due so their transition is smooth and peaceful. I cannot stop it if it is natural. If it is something such as , suicide, I can stop it by all means. That's not all I can do, I control the night of the earth , the moon. I'm in charge of its setting. I'm in charge of spirits that need ease and roam the earth. I ease them and send them to heaven. Those who commit unearthly crimes...the 3 world court deals with. So basically I roam the earth like a human but am always on the lookout for the next one due. The hourglass shows me the time of each person I talk to.

"Reith!!" Called out a friend of mine. The hourglass turned and showed me that she has a very long way to go as her hourglass was filled al the way to the top barely dripping.

"Hey! What's up?" I smiled

"Not much just saw you and wanted to talk to you! How's...you know... Roaming?" She asked in a whisper tone. Not many people know I am an angel particularly of darkness but I told her.

"Haven't been on radar, everyone is good so. The hourglass isn't picking anything up. And I haven't run into any untimely deaths. Hopefully I don't run into any that are planning on doing so." I laughed nervously. I noticed someone seemingly following us but I just ignored it.

"You're good at your job and are obviously not an evil angel. Don't worry too much." She said.
I smiled and noticed the person behind still following. She smiled at me

"Hey" she said quietly

"Hey can I help you?" I smiled. I noticed the hourglass sand disappear and that's when it hit me.

"You're an angel of some sort..." I said confused.
