The Art Of Getting By.

Chapter 1

             " Gina Lilian Henderson,  I take you as my wife and will always be by your side for ever and always."

                    Those words coming from my best friend of twenty years. Let me take you back to the beginning of the story, when we first meet.

              *First Day of First Grade on the playground*

            "Four eyes, four eyes, four eyes" said a girl with blonde hair.

             "Mary Mary is such a fatty" said a boy in a blue shirt.

               "Hey Gina you and my dog must be related cause you guys look the same".  said a girl with pigtails.

              "Hey everyone leave her alone" said a boy with brown hair. He walked over and held his hand out to the girl to help her up. "Are you okay" he asked as he pulled her up.

"T-t-thank you" she stuttered. She took of her glasses and dried off her eyes. When she put her glasses back on she saw that the boy was still looking at her.

"I'm Geo. What's your name" He asked as he stuck out his hand to her.

"I'm Gina"  She says grabbing his hand.

"So Gina your now my best friend. Wanna go play on the swings" He asked before running off.

*12 Years Later*

       "Ginnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

    "Geooooooooooooooooooooooooo" I sang back. We where hanging out at my house after the last day of school. 

"Are you gonna feed me? Or do you just wanna starve me? Because that would be mean and very heartless." He said rolling over to his back on my bed. We were watching my all time favorite TV show, Jane the Virgin.

"Geo, you practicably live here. Why can't you just go downstairs and get it yourself?" I say from my COMFORTABLE spot by the top of the bed. 

"PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE GINNNNNNNNA I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER." He yells. I roll my eyes and get up from the bed.

"Fine, but you didn't have to yell." I say padding my way to the door.

"I'M NOT YELLING, I'M JUST TALKING IN ALL CAPS" He yells back at me.  I just roll my eyes as I go into the kitchen. See the thing is that I've been in love with Geo since the sixth grade. In ninth grade Geo became a player. He was a guy that girls just seemed to swoon over. Most of the girls he "dated" were jealous of our relationship.  After the eighth grade I started wearing contacts and started dressing better.  Most guys still didn't notice me. But I didn't really care because they only one I wanted notice me, only saw me as a little sister.  I sigh and walk into the kitchen. My parents were there making out. *inserts gagging emoji*.

"Guys, can you at least try and keep it PG. That could have scarred me for life." I say walking to the junk food cabinet. As I pull out chips and gummy bears, my parents detach and try and fit themselves. When I turn around my mom has her shirt on backwards. I laugh and go grab to bottles of water.

"Mom your shirt is on backwards, again." Then I turn and walk back upstairs. When I get there is see Geo talking on the phone.

"No I haven't told her.  No she just got back. Yeah I'll tell her. See you later then."

"Who was that" I asked dumping the snacks back on the bed and climb back into my spot.

"Dusk Maddox is having a party tonight. Adriana wants me to go." Geo says picking up one of the bags of chips.  

I DID NOT WANT TO GO TO THIS PARTY. And let me tell you why. Dusk Maddox is the queen bee of our high school. She got pretty much everything she wanted. Her boyfriend is the captain of the football team, the soccer team, And the baseball team. Her dad is some big time producer or something like that, and her mom is  a model. Dusk had to minions who followed her around and did everything she did. They were like copies of the real thing. One of the girls was Adriana Hamel, Geo's latest fling. The only reason she's popular is because she has DD cups. She's "dated" half of our school. The last part of their mean girls group is  Reagan McCarty. Her dad is principle of our school, so I'm not sure how she got popular.  They basically rule the school.

"Have fun." I say getting back under the covers.

"Gina, come on you never have any fun. Don't make me call Eliza." He threatens.

"Fineeeee. I'll go get ready." I say rolling out from under my covers.

"I'm going to get ready. I'll be back to pick you up." Geo says as he comes over and kisses me on the cheek. 

"Okay. Bye." I say walking into the bathroom to take a shower.

"BYE" Geo yells as he walks out of the door shutting the door behind him. I just hope that this night ends well...
