I was walking down the hall of my best friend's new mansion. "Katy, i love your house." She looks at me and smiles. when I say 'I love your house', Sometimes i just say that just to be nice, but her home is really somethin. "Woah; you have a movie screen too?"
"To go along with the movie theater seats and the popcorn machine. Duh." Katy's actually from Britain but she came to my school in the beginning of junior year. I've actually known Katy for a year now. However, she surprises me every time i talk to her. The way she talks about her family is definitely different than i do. She hates her mum and has four dogs which she hates, unlike me. I happen to have four horses, three pigs and nine chickens. And by the way, I love them.
"Are you good hannah? You were kind of dosing off." Katy stared at me until I answered."Yeah I'm okay. Just thinking about how lucky you are to have this beautiful home."
"I'm not even lucky Hannah. I have two brothers and four dogs which pee all over my furry rug in my small room." This is what I mean by surprises. She shocks me every time she speaks.
"You are very lucky Stewart." I answered. I'm starting to believe she has issues because of how spoiled she is.
"My mum is totally a pain. She makes me wash all the dishes every day! can you believe that?"
I mimicked Katy by saying, "I can't even," and I eventually make my way downstairs into the kitchen. During our hang out, I actually found out I happen to be very observant. This is because I realized her stairs are so creaky and that every time I took one step, Katy would probably yell at me for being too loud. Also, her humungous room happens to Be all pink which Is not surprising, for once. Her kitchen is filled with-
"Oh my gosh Hannah! You're doing it again." Katy interrupts my thinking, again, as she walks me out through the brown, wooden door of her mansion.
"Sorry I have to leave so early Katy but... I need to collect the eggs from my tiny farm around the street." I point left from her place. I don't really know if it's that way I just want to hurry things up a bit. Plus, i'm always awkward, especially in awkward situations. Unlike Katy; she's a very put together person who makes no mistakes. I'm the opposite, a klutz and a goofball. "Bye Stewart, have a great rest of the summer. Oh! And have a fun time at sleep away camp."
Thank god for sleep away camp. Since Katy hates her "Mum", she goes to sleep away camp a couple hours away in Kurkletown Ohio."Bye Hannah! Hope you have fun at your...um..farm thing. Bye." She slams the door shut.
I knew Katy since the beginning of Junior year so I am forced to be friends with her. Our moms became great friends after our first hang out so my mother kind of forces me to see Katy Stewart. But that's okay, I only see her once a month anyways.
I hop into my dad's dusty ole car and begin to speak. "Her new mansion's humungous daddy." I look over to the man steering the car and giggle. "Sorry, my British accent is a little bit rusty." I clear my throat and finish speaking. "I hate my mum and my grandma. She smells like pee from all the doggies." My dad cracks up and begins to laugh.
"She doesn't actually say that does she?" My father, William asked.
"Oh but pop, she does." We giggle until our stomachs hurt. I then suggest the idea of some 'drive thru 'food.
William looks over at me and grins. "Oh yeah. Just don't tell your mother."
"Oh but daddy! Barbara would kill me." I started to speak in my British accent again, just because it's so hilarious when I talk like Katy Stewart.
"Very funny sweet pea. You love that girl sooo much don't you?" My dad giggles.
"I just can't get enough of her."
That whole sentence right there is a lie. Best friend, more like annoying creature whom I see once a month because of my "mum".We laugh some more and stop for yummy mc'donalds. "Hun, what do ya want? Make it fast, we gotta collect the eggs from the chickens."
"Maybe some chicken nuggets." I look over at my father and we both die in laughter.
"You're too funny sweet pea."
He smacks his leg as he laughs with me. The lady behind the register is a little worried. But i'm cool with that. What did I tell you? I'm awkward.
