I woke up the next morning extremely confused. Why didn't he kiss me then and there. How come after three weeks of spending time with each other, he didn't step up his game? I had so many questions for him that I knew I couldn't ask or else it'll be very awkward.

It was a couple of days now after our little situation, and every thing seemed off. Jackson wasn't acting as friendly or kind. Instead, he kept on texting on his phone all the time and going in another stable to answer his phone calls. Something didn't seem right. He didn't act the same, so I had to talk to him.

We were at the stables on a cold evening. A bunch of chickens had to be fed today so I had asked Jackson to help me. The weather was different that day. The sky was cloudy and the wind was strong. The sunflowers were droopy that day and the crisp air was breezy. The bright sun wasn't so bright that day and every thing felt different. I finally came to the conclusion to ask Jay what's going on.
"Jackson," I said confidently.
"Um, yeah Hannah?" He stuttered.
"You seem different lately." He didn't answer me.
"Was it because of that night?" I asked.
"What night?" Jackson placed the eggs into the straw basket as he spoke to me. He wouldn't even look up or even look into my eyes.

"The night where we almost kissed."
"We didn't almost kiss Hannah." All of a sudden, Jackson decided to shout at me. "That was a mistake!"

One single tear dripped down my face. "A mistake?! Why?" I am pissed yet so sad at the same time. My mouth cannot do anything else but pout.

"I need to tell you something O'Brian." He stops speaking and grabs my hand.
"What? What is it?" I look up at him with my droopy and concerned looking eyes.

"I know I've only been working for you parents for three weeks now, but I've got accepted into college. I decided i'm going to Columbia University in New York City."
"But that's far away. I'll...i'll never see you again Jay."
"I know. That's why I didn't want to kiss you."
"You can kiss me." We pause and lock eyes. We're one feet away from one another and I just run into Jacksons arms. we lock lips and kiss for five full minutes.

"You know what?"
"What?" I ask out of breath.
"You can call me babe anytime you want." Now we're making out. I think I love him and all I could think about while kissing him, is college. I guess my Dad
Paid him well so that he can go to college. But, it's just not fair. I love him. I love him so much.

Now we're still kissing and thinking. I wish he didn't have to go.

We're so close. But yet to far.
