"You're okay now, right?" Aston asked warily as I made my way up to him with a grin on my face.
"Is that... Is that a caring tone, Aston West?" I asked with my eyebrow raised, a playful smile on my face. He rolled his eyes and pushed me into my chair next to him.
"Yep, she's back." He muttered, sighing. "It was fun while it lasted." He said to himself rather than me.
"Sorry to ruin your fun, but... I'm eating lunch with you today. Again." I winked, he groaned and put his head back exasperatedly.
"You love me." I said, punching his arm. He hissed and glared. I don't hit that hard do I? "Sorry. Arms of steel." I said, patting my muscle. He rolled his eyes an massaged his arm. From his short sleeve navy blue shirt, I could see a purplish blue bruise laying on his arm. I frowned and reached up to touch it.
"I think I'm the one asking you if you're okay..." I muttered, my hand pushing the sleeve up more. He instantly jerked away from me and glared. "Don't." He said, shaking his head. I sighed, knowing I shouldn't pester him about. He didn't pester me about yesterday, I could be a good... Friend? Acquaintance? Whatever.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Just did." He smirked, forgetting about the whole ordeal.
"Shut up. Are we friends?" I asked. He had a confused look on his face before turning and facing me again. "Do you think we are?" He asked, genuinely.
"I really don't know if I should answer that, considering that you'd most likely laugh in my face like the dickhead you are but I don-"
"Answer the question. Your judgement is more accurate than mine." He explained. I nodded and gave him a smile.
"I'd like to think we are..." I shrugged, the ends of my lips turning down in realization. I nodded and said, "Well, look who got their first friend." I grinned, clapping my hands and patting his shoulder as if he accomplished something serious. Nope, he just accomplished me. But I, Penelope King, accomplished a friendship with Aston West.

The rest of the day went smoothly, even without Veronica being here. She actually caught the flu, for real this time, I say it's karma. She says its fate bringing me and Aston closer.
"How long is your friend going to be out, I think I'm getting tired of this seating arrangement." Aston muttered the next day at lunch when I sat down very closely to him. Oh yeah, this is totally bringing me and Aston closer together. Thanks fate.
"It's nice to know you love me, Aston. Thank you for sharing." I smiled, he rolled his eyes at my sarcastic response and pushed himself away from me. I scooted closer and was on his arm.
"So what are we gonna do today buddy? Conquer the world?" I asked happily, a mock dreamy look on my face.
"I was thinking..." He trailed off, "that you go sit over there and let me read."
"Well. Since you don't have any ideas, I'm going to share mine. Let's go." I said, pulling on his arm.
"You didn't actually share anything, or were you just passing your stupidity to me?" He asked, scoffing and trying to remove my grip.
