Carson Hills, my childhood best friend. His unruly brown curls, dark grey eyes and perfectly fit body, who wouldn't have fell for him. To say I was heartbroken when he came out, was an understatement.
But after a couple months, I knew that it was nothing more than a small crush, I got over it. And at about the same time, he was leaving. Carson had told his parents about his sexuality and they didn't take it so well. Even went as far as trying to 'take away the gay' as they put it, they sent him off to an all boys boarding school, hoping it would shoo away his liking for males.
As many students of the school can see right now, it didn't work.
Carson is shamelessly flirting with Mr. Allen, our science teacher. I laughed loudly at Mr. Allen's dumbstruck face and looked at Carson as if he'd grown three heads. "He has a wife." I told him, making him roll his eyes.
"Good cover." He muttered. "But no straight guy will ever wear that tight of pants and get away with it, especially with me." He said, sending me a wink as he stared at his ass without a bit of shame. I giggled and shook my head, there was no stopping him now.
The school day ended quickly, Ver, Carson, Aston and I all piled up into my car and I drove towards my house. Aston, sitting in the front seat, looked over to me and grinned. "You and I are going somewhere tonight." He said, with no room to speak.
"I don't have a choice, again I presume." I stated, grinning.
"Course not. But... Dress in something... A little above casual." He added.
"Is this your idea of asking me out?"
"Yes. You don't have a choice, so we're going and now, we're officially dating. Yeah?" He said, smiling innocently. This guy sure has a way with his demanding words.
"Whatever. What a charmer I have, eh?" I said, rolling my eyes and looking back at Carson and Ver who were giving me grins.
"So cute." Ver mouthed, winking. I rolled my eyes and faced the road again, swerving away from a dead dog on the side of the road.
"Damnit! Can I drive? Please?" Carson asked, his eyes wide as he hung on to the seat tightly.
"Obviously not. You haven't been here in almost five years, who knows if you even remember the way to my house?" I laughed, smirking at his fear struck face. He groaned and scooted closer to Ver, wrapping hisself around her body like she was a pillow. She frowned and started to push him off of her, making me laugh again.
"This is literally the best day ever." I said once we reached the destination.
"Whys that?" Ver asked, throwing her bag over her shoulder as Carson got out and slammed the door.
"We have a gang. This is our gang." I stated proudly, getting weird looks from everyone.
"Uh huh... Did you take your happy pills this morning, P?" Carson asked. I rolled my eyes and pushed him.
"Ooh. Did I show you my ankle?" I asked, sitting on the grass in front of my house and hitching up my legging so he could see my--still swelled--ankle.
"Gah dang. How'd that happen?" He asked, poking at it as I kicked his hand. "Ow." He hissed.
"He slammed the door onto it because I called his girlfriend Victoria a whore." I said, giving Aston a pointed look. "You know... You never even apologised!" I yelled.
"I did! Many times but you were too hung over on jealousy to hear me!" He yelled back, rolling his eyes.
"Whatever."
