A LOVE LIKE KNOW OTHER

Chapter 6

I stood in the shower and watched the water fall from my head to my toes. I rubbed my hands on my arms reminiscing me and Austin's night. He is everything. I've never had someone make me feel this way.

I stood in the bathroom starring at my nude body in the mirror. "Fucking beautiful" Austin's words filled my mind. I wrapped my stomach with my arm and smiled to myself. I decided to wear something simple. My black spaghetti strap sun dress gold Steve Madden sandals and My Chanel Black and gold purse. I put my hair in a bun.

I walked in to Austin's room and he was sitting on the bed putting on his shoes. He waved at me and motioned for me to come here. I sat next to him and he put his index finger over his lips signaling me to be quite, I looked over and saw He had his earphones in on the phone. I made a face and got off of his bed. I started picking up his dirty clothes and putting them  in the hamper I picked up all the trash and threw it away. I folded up the clean clothes and put them up.

Awwww I said looking at a baby picture I found of him. I watched him stand from the bed and walk towards me taking the picture out of my hand. You ready he said. Yeah I responded. I shrugged off the fact that he didn't talk about the phone call.

I followed him out the room and to the car. He opened my door then paused. Thanks for straightening up my room. Your welcome I said while getting in the car.

We pulled up to the restaurant. I got out. And walked after him into the restaurant. We were seated. Sitting across from each other. He played with his straw and didn't say a word. What's wrong Austin. I said reaching for his hand. He pulled his hand back and rubbed his face.

They want me to come earlier. Who? The Nets Jas. What's earlier? I asked. Next week. My eyes bucked. Austin we have finals next week do they know that. Yeah they arranged for me to take them this week. Then move out there... Wait wait move! now!? Why so soon Austin. I felt my eyes get hot and my throat started to tighten up. I don't know I haven't even been drafted yet but they want me there to work out and to get ready.

Okay so your leaving? Yeah I guess. But listen Jas. What if you moved down there with me. I raised and eyebrow. What I can't just leave.  Austin! I'm about to graduate I lived in Georgia all my life.  I know Baby girl exactly your about to start a new life why not start it in The big apple. What am I suppose to tell my mom that you haven't even met yet or my dad. Look baby girl your 24 your grown. I'll meet your parents if that will make you feel better.

I felt tears roll down my face. Why you crying Jas. Because your just dropping this news on me and my best friend is pregnant and she's suppose to move down here so she can be with the family and I really like you. This is to much can we please go.  Alright.

I followed after him while wiping my tears.  The car ride was quite but it allowed me to calm down.

We made it to my dorm and I stepped out with out saying a word. I went in and sat on the sofa. I pulled out my phone and called my mom.

MOM~Hey jassy baby
JAS~  Hey mommy
MOM~ what's up baby?
JAS~ so mommy I've been dating this boy.
MOM~ you pregnant Jas
JAS~ NO! Mom I shouted
MOM~ good then what is it
JAS~ soo his name is Austin Macoy
MOM~ that basketball player everyone going crazy about?
JAS~ yeah ma how you know him?
MOM~ Girl you know your dad be all up in front of the TV with that basketball stuff.
JAS~ oh well yeah that's who I've been dating and recently the New York Nets called and offered him a contract.
MOM~ oh wow that's good for him.
JAS~ yeah it is but they want him to move to New York and he asked me to move with him. I mean I won't have to live with him and I can start teaching in New York it will be like my new start.
MOM~ well Jas it seems you all ready made up your mind your just trying to see what I think. Well baby I think it will be a nice idea. And you need to make sure you have a secure job before you move anywhere. You never know what will happen when he becomes big. And you shouldn't move for him move for you.
JAS~ yeah true mommy.
MOM~ but how's Trey and Bones?
JAS~ good they left this morning.
MOM~ oh really why?
JAS~ well mommy you can't say nothing.
MOM~ girl I already know bones done got her self knocked up. Girl y'all should know Trey can't hold water. He didn't tell his mom but he sure did call me.
JAS~ dang Trey. I laughed. But mommy that's the reason I'm scared to leave. I know bones is going to need me.
MOM~ Jasmine you have done good by everyone it's time for you to enjoy your life go ahead and start it in New York me and your dad will be proud of you know matter where you are. But this weekend we are having a BBQ. You and your boyfriend come on by.
JAS~ Your right ma thanks and he's not my boyfriend.
MOM~ yeah whatever. I love you see you this weekend.
JAS~ Love you to. I made kissy  noises in the phone and hung up.
