Chapter 1: Daddy's Girl

It was a fine morning in Aiken (a bit of history, Aiken was a place in Ireland a long time ago, go and check it out if you have time), and young Kat was waking up before the sun. *yaaaaawn* "Today is going to be a fine day indeed" Kat said drowsily. She got up and got dressed before heading out the door of her balloon, she grabbed an apple from a near by tree and went strait for her father's airship. She got a message from her father's mechanical bird a week before, that said to meet him at his airship today, he said he had something for her.  Kat waited a week for today, and today finally came.

She hopped merrily down the streets of her town of Mechan, sang  through the woods of Farfetched, and danced up the mountain of Fair, and finally arrived at her father's house. Kat marvelled at the mountain which her father owned. On the side of the mountain near the top, was Fin Fair (alliteration) engraved into the (more alliteration) great granite.

The sun barley burning (I'll stop now) above the horizon when she reached her father's door. Kat heard him get up so she knocked on his door. Kat's father opened it and she jumped in his arms. She hadn't seen him in years, and he would only be in town for a few days. He was on a trip around the world, and had to make a stop before finishing his journey.

"God, do ye ever sleep lass?" Fin said in a charming Irish accent.         "Good to see ya too old man" Kat replied sarcastically, in the same accent. They were both happy to see each other, and they had a lot of catching up to do. They both laughed. Fin lead Kat into his house and brought out a huge red and silver box with a tag on it that said: For-Kat, From-Dad.

"This is just a little something for your new journey" Fin said. Kat's eyes lit up, she didn't know what this new thing was, but she would love it. He father Fin always made his own things, and with the help of his crew, he made his airship. Kat's father's big quest was to travel the world in his airship.

Kat opened the box and found a much smaller box inside, about the size of her  hand, and inside the box was a metal ball, covered in gears and clogs. The ball had a button on it, and Kat pressed it. The entire thing started to grow and transform into a metal dragon, about the size of the bigger box. Fin purposely put the smaller box in the bigger box, just in case the dragon "hatched" while still inside the smaller box.

"I haven't had the time to give er' a name yet, I was going to leave it up to you." Fin said. Kat was overwhelmed with joy. She now had her own little hyper dragon buddy, but what was this quest her father was talking about?
"That isn't the only I got for ye'" Fin said cheerfully before leading Kat outside. "Ya see that ther" Fin said, pointing to his airship "I want ye to have it, finish me quest for me."
"Are u sure pop" Kat said sadly "Ya always wanted to travel the world in yer balloon, ya can't just give up so easily", but the old fool was to determined to pass on his quest to Kat, and she sadly, and gladly took it. Her and her companion would travel the whole world on her father's balloon/airship, they're the same thing, and take on whatever got in their way. Her father gave her a map of the world, and a list of places he would never get the chance to visit. He told Kat about a girl stuck in a tower by the name of Autumn, and said to rescue her if she was still up there, but nobody knew what was about to happen, or the dangers that where ahead of Kat.
