Make It Alright

Stiles' eyelids fluttered open. This was the first time he had fallen asleep and woken up with no haunting dreams of December fourth. Slightly relieved, Stiles wondered what had changed, then recalled he and Derek's extremely 0ff-putten rendezvous. Lips curving to himself, he rolled over, the wolf's clothless form beside his own. Feeling slightly guilty about waking him, Stiles scooted closer to Derek, resting his head on the alpha's firm chest. He found that, after all this time, pillows just did not compare.

Derek opened his eyes, adjusting to Stiles' body cuddling into him like it had not in months, "Hey," he greeted, fingers beginning to comb through the boy's hair.

Stiles sighed in response, hand sliding onto Derek's chest as well, "I missed this." he said quietly, "I missed you."

Derek let slip a sad smirk, thinking of all the time they had lost, "I missed you too."

The teen glanced up at him, something nagging on his mind since he saw the wolf pull up, "Derek, can I ask you something?"

He nodded, looking down at Stiles curiously, "What?"

He shrugged, feeling slightly petty when asking this, "Why'd you get rid of the Camaro?"

Derek chuckled lightly, "I didn't."

"You didn't?" repeated the boy, "You still have it?"

Derek nodded, "Yeah, I tried to sell it- Cora wanted me to, but I backed out right before they handed me the check."

Stiles' lips curved, "Because it's a nice car?"

"Because it has nice memories." Derek corrected with a smirk.

Stiles sighed, "Cora's never gonna get used to me again, is she?"

Derek recalled every spat he and she had concerning the human, "It might take a while."

Before he thought it through, the question slipped out, "Are you gonna get used to me again?"

For a moment, Derek's fingers halted in place, Stiles shutting his eyes nervously, "I don't have to." he answered, resuming his finger's menstrations through Stiles' hair, "I never really got used to you being gone."

Stiles lifted his head, looking down at Derek sorrowfully, "Me neither."

The wolf seemed satisfied to hear that, hand falling from Stiles' hair to his back. His fingers made a circling motion along the boy's spine, something that always used to soothe him. Apparently it still did, Stiles' body melting into the wolf's even more than it already had.

"I know it doesn't make much of a difference." Stiles spoke in a light and careful voice, "I know you probably don't believe I loved you the whole time, but," he paused, guilty eyes falling away from Derek's, "this time I'm gonna do it right."

The wolf's lips curved contentedly, seeming to believe every word. He was so trusting- already falling right back into who they were before. Stiles could never thank him enough for his unknowingly and, on occasion, unadmittedly large heart. He scooted up to align his lips with lips with Derek's, shortly filling the gap between them. The alpha kissed him back, doubting he could ever bring himself not to. This was right now- this was real. Stiles was here and so was Derek. Everything would be alright again. Somehow, when their lips collided, they both knew that, from now on, it always would be.

Yup.

You waited four days for that.

It was cute though, right?
