Chapter 5
"Okay I hope you two have fun" Mrs Reninsen spoke as she waved me and Matt off. Clearly neither of us were impressed by having to be partnered together so that he would have to show me the school. I had to deal with my first day let alone this annoying brat.
She basically threw us out the office and continued doing what she does best. Stuffing her face with food and pressed keys on the keyboard like an old age pensioner. I have only known her for the best part of 3 minutes and that's already what I learned from her.
I glanced at Matt already gaining a sense of awkwardness between us - this whole thing clearly isn't going to end up good so why don't I just end it before anything else goes bad.
I turned away from Matt, finally being able to discard his emerald green eyes which had a darkness to them. I started to walk away but I felt a firm hand on my arm jerking me back with a lot of strength. My body collided with Matt's as he held me steady so I didn't actually end up falling over on him.
Because that would be even more embarrassing.
"What the hell do you think you are doing?" I hissed at Matt, ripping my arm from the iron grip of his hand. I sent him a disgusted look.
He took a step back, his face twisted into a look of confusion. "I could ask you the same thing" He responded just as harshly as I spoke.
I narrowed my eyebrows at him, not really expecting him to talk to me with such a rude attitude. If I took a first glance at this kid I would think he would be kind, friendly and full off compassion. Instead I was wrong.
"I am meant to be showing you around and if I don't you will get me into trouble. So just stop acting like a stuck up bitch" He spat back at me, his words laced with a hiss of snake venom.
I felt slightly taken back; I never thought again this kid would have the nerve to call me a bitch. Plus it's a little rich coming from him. I opened my mouth to retaliate back but the bell cut me off making me just glare at him.
"Come on" He demanded, using his thumb to motion to follow him through the hallways. I sighed, giving in and following Matt through the corridors of the hall. Ever so often we would come to s short stop so that he could talk to a couple of his friends on the football team.
Matt seemed popular. That's was something I could take away from him, if I could think up of a good enough plan to wreck his social ladder scale.
Finally Matt lead me to a classroom which I was guessing was my form room. We walked in and he instantly split from me; something in me made me feel slightly bad for being rude at him but a more dominant side of me told me that I shouldn't really care what he thinks.
I walked to the back and took a seat, putting my bag on the table so I could play on my phone behind it hopefully without getting caught. A few minutes later a girl arrived beside my desk, she smiled down at me.
The girl had dark brown hair which got lighter at the bottom in a sort of ombre style. It looked nice in all honesty but I knew that I could pull off that hair better. It's something I always wanted to do. Dye my hair. She had big, brown eyes reminding me of a really sad puppy.
"You must be Rose the new girl" She spoke, rocking her shoulders side to side. My insides growled slightly hearing the name Rose come from her lips. I hated it when people called me Rose - they had no right.
It was what my mother called me and only my mother.
"my name is Lily. We both have plant names, how cool is th-" I cut the bitch off in her mid sentence not really caring about what she had to say.
"Okay listen here Lily or whatever your name is. I don't care so how about you leave me alone okay" I snapped shooting her one of my famous fake smiles. Her grin dropped from her lips and she looked embarrassed and awkward. Good.
She turned from her space beside me and started to walk off, only to grant me with the view of everyone else staring in my way probably from hearing our very unpleasant convocation. Well they shouldn't be butting into my business anyway.
The only thing my eyes locked onto was Matt, giving me a very judgemental and angry look. His lips were pulled into a tight line and he just shook his head at me. Maybe the old me would of felt some disappointment, the 9 year old who had hope that someone would come and save her. But she was gone.
No one cane save you from reality. It just sucks.
Everyone's attention quickly turned to the teacher as he entered the room. I had no clue who he was and I had a feeling I wasn't going to like him. He had a stack of papers clamped under his arm which he placed down once he arrived in front of his desk.
He smiled out the class. "Good morning everyone." He spoke enthusiastically probably expecting everyone to speak back but all he got was half hearted attempts of speech.
"So today we have a new pupil with us today. Her name is Rose Clark" He introduced, using his hand to gesture to me. I mentally cursed to myself, wanting to smack my head off the table multiple times.
Everyone turned around to glare at me again, their eyes raking up and down me with full hatred looks of judgment. I felt a little uncomfortable but I put my confident front on. My walls.
"Rose how about you tell everyone something interesting about yourself" The teacher - who's name I still haven't learnt yet spoke. He perched on the corner of his desk, waiting for me to speak.
I stood up, almost kicking my chair over in a slightly rage. I gritted my teeth "An interesting fact about me is that if I hear the word Rose come out of your mouth again the next thing that will come out will be your teeth"
Some people gasped in a sound of horror whilst others laughed and created hype within the classroom. I smirked triumphantly, clearly already making an impression. "And I don't make empty threats"
