Even if we can't find heaven,
I'll walk through hell with you.

Neither of them knew how long they lay there together, side by side. The heavy air kept pressing down on them, making it hard to breathe. Suddenly Merida started chuckling, a foreign sound in the tortured screams that echoed around them, sometimes too close for comfort. "I thought your name was Skillet," she chuckled, tilting her head to look at him. "But it was Pan. Still a strange name."
A ghost of a smile crossed his face. "You've said that." He looked over at her, thinking that maybe this wasn't so bad. He was without magic and she didn't remember him, but they were together. Leaning over a bit more, he kissed her slowly. She drew back for a moment before returning the kiss. Breaking away after a moment, they locked eyes, Merida's suddenly widening. "What the hell happened. I remember now...but what happened?"
He smiled weakly. "Something happened to you, and I tried to come after you when I realized something was wrong. Hades...made me give up my magic. There's no way for us to get out of here."
Merida shook her head, strength flowing through her veins from the kiss. "There's got to be a way out." She struggled to her feet, hissing in pain at the wounds on her back. She offered a hand to him and pulled him to his feet, steadying him as he stumbled slightly. "We'll make it. Promise me we'll make it," she locked eyes with him, her gaze holding that familiar stubbornness. "I promise we'll make it," he said, nodding slowly at her.

She smiled grimly and glanced towards Hade's fortress in the distance. "My weapons are in there. And most likely any chance of getting out of this bloody place is in there."
They set out, each supporting the other as they needed it. They were both weak, Pan feeling drained after finally being without magic, and Mer being weak from the torture and laying there so long.
She glanced sideways at Pan. "You gave up your magic for me?"
He shrugged, not making eye contact with her. "He would've killed me if I hadn't given it up, and then there'd be no chance of getting you out of here. Didn't really have a choice."
"You're an idiot." She was silent for a moment. "But thank you."
"Don't thank me yet Love. We still have to get out of here." He glanced at her. They had reached the fortress, and it was unguarded. A bit odd, but good luck for them. It took both of them to pull open the huge doors and they slipped in, instantly on high alert. After a few moments of exploring the passages they entered into a room. "Bingo," Merida grinned, spotting her weapons leaning up against a table. She tossed a sword to Pan. "You might need this. Seeing as you can't do your magic anymore."

The door that they had came in suddenly slammed shut, making them both spin around and raise their weapons. A giant three-headed dog raised its ugly heads, its eyes glowing red in the darkness of the room. A menacing growl rumbled through its chest and it crouched, getting ready to pounce. Pan cursed, shoving Merida out of the way before the beast pounced. The impact shook the floor and they both lost their balance and were slammed to the floor. Merida groaned, crawling to her feet as she fumbled for an arrow. "Now would be a perfect time to find a way home!" She yelled at Pan, letting an arrow fly at the beast. The shaft only irritated it more as it snarled at her.
Spotting a trunk in the corner, Pan ducked around the three headed dog, fumbling with the lock before flinging it open. He dug through the trunk, cursing under his breath as he reached the bottom and it was covered with bottles that could all hold a way back home. "Peter!"

Merida's warning reached his ears and he instinctively threw himself to the side just before the monster's back foot crashed into the wooden box. "Bloody great," he muttered, coughing in the dust as he staggered to his feet. "You could've aimed his foot away from the box!" He yelled at Merida across the room.
She shot a glare at him. "Be glad I didn't aim him at you!" She snapped.
He grinned. There was that spunky redhead.

The beast growled as it shook its foot free of the box, immediately lunging at Merida. She yelped and jumped out of the way, shooting an arrow at him as he thundered by. Bottles from the chest scattered across the floor, a few smashing onto the floor and the smoke in them dispersing. A portal started opening in the middle of the floor, startling the monstrous dog. It spun around, his tail smashing into Merida and sending her flying against the wall. She cried out at the impact, sliding to the floor dazed for a moment. Pan's attention was suddenly drawn to familiar dark red smoke just disappearing on the floor. If he was right....
He glanced down at his hands, suddenly thrusting one towards the beast. The power behind Pan only made it stagger for a moment, but it was enough for Pan to reach Merida. They were both getting weak. It was now or never. He pulled her upright, slipping an arm around her waist as he pulled her towards the portal.
Taking a breath, he glanced at her. "Ready?" She weakly nodded. And so he jumped into the portal, the hound's jaws snapping behind them as they disappeared.
