Dressage day

I go to sleep that night feeling refreshed and excited for the next day. I Toss and turn in my little camp bed in the back of the trailer. Eventually, I drift off to sleep and wake up panicking. It's 7am. My test is at 10:35 am so I've got time. I get up and pull on my mint green jodhpurs and NYPD jumper, and jog to the courtyard. Elsie nickers from her stall, and I walk over to her. I untie her Haynet from the little ring in her stall and jog to our trailer. I refill it from the hay in our trailer and tie it back up in her stall. I mix her feed and throw it in for her, then I grab her saddle out of her tack trunk and start cleaning it. By the time Elsie's finished her feed, it's now 8:30 and Alice isn't down yet. I unbolt Elsie's door, put her head collar on and tie her up. I set up my little stool and start plaiting her mane. I've finished her mane by 9:00 am and I start on her tail. I do a little fishtail that goes down the back, and finish this by 9:30. I put little diamanté rings on her plaits, making her look very fancy. I walk out of her stall and jog up to the trailer. I go into the trailer, and by this time Alice is awake. I pull on my white breeches and black dressage jacket, pull on my tall boots and pull my hair back into a tight bun. I grab my top hat and I'm out the door again, making my way to the stables again. I place Elsie's gleaming saddle on the door and hook her bridle over my shoulder. I put her bridle on and loop the reins. I place her white saddle pad on, then her saddle. As I finish wrapping her 3rd polo wrap, Alice arrives at the door. "Hey Em, you nearly ready?"
"Nearly," I say wrapping the last polo wrap.
"Damn it!" I say
"What?" Alice says
"I forgot to put her ear bonnet on!" I quickly remove her bridle and place her ear bonnet on, then re fasten her bridle. I lead elsie out and pull down her stirrups. Alice gives me a leg up, and I walk on a long rein down to the arena. At the arena, theres already 3 people in there warming up. One of them is Pippa funnel. I trot in and start warming Elsie up. I have half an hour before my test. As I go to canter her, a woman in the ring cuts me off as her horse bolts past. "OI!" She screams at the horse, smacking his gleaming neck. I canter by, not wanting to interfere, as a tall lady in purple breeches walks over to the woman on the horse. The loudspeaker crackles into life and a mans voice comes loud and clear "Miss Izzy Taylor and Nightstorm into the arena please!" Oh gosh, she's the one before me! The other girl in the arena trots out and it's now just me, Pippa and the woman on the freaked out horse. As I hear the crowd clap, Izzy walks out on a long rein. I guess they did well. Now the loudspeaker crackles again, and the man says "Miss Emily Prior with Willowbrook  Allstar in the arena please," I trot Elsie in, and circle the white boards on the floor, marking the arena. I trot down to the judges box and give my name, then back up to A. I trot in and halt perfectly at X, saluting to the judge. Elsie's test is perfect! She does the flying changes exactly when I ask,
And the half passes perfectly! As we come up the centre Line to finish, I can't help but grin. I know my test has been perfect. I halt and salute, and walk out, giving Elsie a massive pat.

Once I'm back at the stables, I hose Elsie down and give her treats. After I remove her plaits, I go down to the score board to see if my score is up yet. Sure enough, my score has been posted and I scored an amazing 32.5! A girl next to me with bright red hair looks over and says "Aren't you that Emily girl with the nice horse?" I nod, and she goes "good job. I'm Amy Parker, please let me know if that horse is ever for sale." She smiles and hands me a business card, then strolls away.

Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed this part! The next one will be very exciting as its cross country!
