Chapter 18

Rosaline moved her piece and grinned with satisfaction as she looked up to Abellon.

"Checkmate."

He groaned and threw his hands up in the air.

"Again? I don't know how you do it, love. I used to be the king at chest."

"Well now I'm the Queen." She giggled as he covered his face with his hands.

They've been playing chess for a while now and she beat him three times while he's only won once which was when they first began to play.

"Wanna go again?" She asked slyly.

"An get my ass kicked once again letting my ego deflate to where it's nonexistent? I think not."

He got up with a pout and went over to one of the couches in the library and sat down with his arms crossed like a two year old. She laughed and went over and sat beside him.

"It's alright my little baby." She patted his head. "Maybe you will get me next time."

He glared over at her causing her to laugh. Next thing she knew her back was on the couch and he was attacking her belly. She cried out and begged him to stop. Tears ran down her face for how hard she was laughing. Abellon laughed above her as his fingers reached her sides. She squealed and tried to get away. When he finally stopped she breathed in and out heavily and wiped her tears away. He smiled and bent down kissing her cheek. She could feel a deep blush covering them from the action.

"Abellon, would you like to hear a secret?"

He raised an eyebrow from on top of her. "A secret?"

She nodded and curled her index finger at him so he would lean down more. When he did and his ear was to her lips, she smirked. Sticking her tongue out she licked it and his cheek then shoved him off of her and off of the couch. Getting up she ran to the library doors and out of them and into the hall, a little surprised that he didn't get her before she could even touch the doors. She ran as if her life depended on it. Looking behind her she squealed as she saw Abellon giving chase and closing in with an evil grin. Looking forward she tried to make her legs go faster. She took a couple of turns to try and cut him off but to no use. She even managed to grab a pillow from a chair that was sat alone in the hall and threw it at him hitting him in the head but he only laughed. She had a feeling that Abellon was letting her outrun him and could catch her whenever he liked.

Looking ahead she decided to find a room and hide. Running to a door that she didn't think to look over she quickly slammed it open and slammed it back shut. Turning around to find a good spot her heart froze in her chest when she saw what room she picked. She stood in the center of the kings office and there, sat in front of her going over some papers as he usually did, was the king himself. He didn't look up when she entered but she knew that he knew she was there. Rhyvos has been in his office since he came back from wherever he went. He hasn't requested for her to be at his side or anything. She has been doing as she pleased which was mostly hanging out with Abellon. The king hasn't even came to the dinners that everybody was suppose to show up to at nights. She doesn't even know if he's even been to his room since whenever she wakes up he's never there. Although, he's never usually there.
