Nancy's perspective
"James, James Dennis that is" James said as he gave me my last paper, we touched hands. "oh I do believe you will be living next to me, my mom wants me to bake you all a welcome pie, what kind do you prefer?" "well apple has always been a family favorite but no need Nancy, I wouldn't want you to go threw all the trouble" "it would my pleasure to bake an apple pie for your family, I must get going now, I wouldn't want to hold you up" I smiled "at least let me walk you, wouldn't want a pretty lady like you walking the streets alone" he held out his arm "well I guess not, I'm meeting some of my friends at the diner if you would like to come along, you are sure welcome" he accepted my offer. As we walked down the street arm n' arm James kept wanting to know more about the town and a bit about me too "So Nancy, how big is this town? how many people live here?" he questioned "well, not very big maybe 300 people" i answered "What do you all do for fun around here?" "Well i don't do much, the diner for me is as fun as it gets" I paused "But i do know of some people who like to....break the rules..." I whispered the last part "what do you mean by....break the rules..." James imitating the last part "Well around here were not aloud to drink, listen to loud music, nor even stay out past 8pm" I informed him "and why is that Nancy" "well because the paster and all the parents of the town made those rules to help us be as good people as we can be" "Now that's just wack!" James said "well it's the rules, why are you so shocked about this all? Is there any rules where you come from?" I questioned "well yes" he paused "don't take another man's life" "that's it?" I asked "that's it." he stated "now where is this dine of yours?" "oh it's just past that corner, we are almost there" I smiled. We walked into the diner and almost every one was looking at us, I wasn't used to this kind of attention. "well there are my friends" I pointed over to the corner booth "I'm gonna get a Pepsi, would you like one?" he asked sweetly "no, thank you" I smiled and started walking over to Jill, Jane, and Melva. I sat down next to Melva "Hi girls, how are all of you today" i smiled "Oh don't go N' change the subject Nancy" said jill "Yea we all want to know what is going on with you N' Mr. cute cakes over there" smiled widely Melva "oh come on you can tell just us girls" winked Jane "Now hush girls we wouldn't want him to know were talking about him, and if you must know his name is James, N' nothing is going on calm down, what page is due tomorrow?" I asked "See there she goes again tryin' to change the subject" said Jill "Fine fine, ladies he's just going to be my neighbor, we met because i was running N' not looking where I was going, then I may have bumped into him, thats how we got talking, now can i please get the homework assignment i only have until four o'clock" why are they so interested in James. "alright, fine its page 697 questions 1-27" said jane with a hint of annoyance in her voice "thank you, Jane" I smiled trying to lighten the mood. Just as i was finishing problem number 20, James comes over "Hello Nancy" said a familiar voice, I looked up saw James looking at no one but me and the girls just drooling over him "Hello James" I smiled "I was wondering if i would be able to walk you home today" he asked ever so kindly "Why of corse, I actually need to go home now N' get started on that apple pie of yours" As we walked home arm N' arm this time in silence, a nice peaceful silence. "Thank you for walking me home James" "It was my pleasure, Nancy" he smiled. Just like that he walked away.
