I fished for my phone. It's Dani Ravena. I felt uneasy after seeing her name on my phone's screen. Not that I don't want to talk her. This time, I've been wanting to hear a word from anyone in their family.

Sam: Excuse me guys. I'll just get this one.

I left Kim and Tho. Tho's gaze followed me.

Sam: Hello Dani! What's up?

I heard nothing but complete silence. Okay, what's wrong? I feel that my heart started pounding really fast.

Sam: Dani, please talk to me. What's wrong?

Dani: Ate, I'm sorry to disturb you.

Sam: No you're not. What's wrong?

Dani: Ate, we're in the hospital. Kuya has been diagnosed with pneumonia.

Sam: What?!?

Dani: Yeah but you've got nothing to worry about. The doctors said that he'll be fine in days. I know that seeing you can make him feel better. Will you do it?

Sam: Yes, I will. Just wait for me, I'm coming.

Dani: Thank you, Ate Sam. I owe you bigtime. Please be safe.

How come Kief didn't tell me anything?!?

I walked back to where Tho is. I can't stop myself from worrying. What kind of friend am I?!?

Thomas: Mants, what's wrong?

Sam: Kiefer.. He's in the hospital.

Thomas: What?!? Why?!?

Sam: He's been diagnosed with pneumonia. I'll go there. Just tell them, okay?

I turned my back on him but he grabbed my hand.

Thomas: I'll come with you.

I shook my head.

Sam: No need, Tho.

Thomas: Just at least let me bring you there. I swear not to go inside. I'll just drop you there then I'll leave, promise.

There's no point in arguing with Tho.

Sam: As if you'll listen to me. Okay, fine. Let's go.
