Cry's Perspective

The sound of my own laughter rings through my ears as I run through the seemingly endless maze. "You can't run forever, friend~" My voice echoes throughout the maze, his footsteps getting louder. He's right... I can't keep this up for much longer.

The sound of his footsteps begin to fade, giving me a sense hope. I slow my pace and fall to my knees in an attempt to catch my breath. 'I think he's gone...' I smile at the thought of being safe until a wave of discomfort washes over me. "Why hello there~" My blood runs cold at the familiar voice. I slowly turn around to see none other than him.

Just as I fully turn around, a pair of hands latch onto my throat, lifting me off the ground and into the air. "I'm coming for you, Cry~" He whispers into my ear before an electric blue light engulfs me followed by a sharp pain in my head.

I gasp and quickly sit up, my heart pounding in my head. I let out a relieved sigh as I look around, finding myself in my room. I toss my feet over the bed and stand up unsteadily. I rub the sleep from my eyes before getting dressed, walking out of my room, and making my way downstairs.

I stretch my limbs and let out a big yawn as I grab a bowl and some cereal out of the cupboard. I place them on the kitchen island before opening the refrigerator. I grab the milk and set it on the table, shutting the fridge and moving to the silverware drawer. I grab a spoon and carelessly toss it in the bowl. I pour the milk and cereal and dig in, thinking of all of the things I'm planning to do with my friends today.

I finish up and put everything away before making my way back upstairs lazily. I walk into my room and shut the door, walking to my computer and plopping down in my computer chair. I turn it on and put in my password. I grab my mouse and click on Skype, finding my friends and adding them to a group call.

"Eyyyyy, buddy! It's about time you woke up!" Russ' voice sounds through my headphones. I smile and laugh. "I need my beauty sleep, man." I say, staring at the web cam. "It's like, one o'clock in the afternoon, Cry! How late did you stay up last night?" Raven asks.

I laugh again, trying to remember what time a fell asleep. "I dunno. Probably around twelve. You all know I get a little loopy when I try to stay up any later." I answer while thinking back to the last time I tried to stay up later. Russ and Scott cackle at the memory, making me laugh harder.

"Well, how come you didn't wake up at around nine like you usually do?" Snake's deep, monotone voice questions suspiciously. "Again, I dunno. Let's just forget about it and play some video games!" I exclaim happily. I hear cheers of agreement from everyone but Snake, which is pretty normal since he's usually quiet, but his silence feels different. It feels more absent than shy. Kinda like he's thinking. I brush it off before picking out a game for us to play. Battlefield 4.

We play for an hour or so, laughing at each other's strange antics. As we're playing, my player suddenly stops moving. I raise an eyebrow as I spam the W button in attempt to walk forward. "Hey Trooper, why'd you stop movin'? We got people to shoot at!" Russ asks, his player model walking over to me and stabbing me a couple times. "I can't move? I think there's something wrong with my keyboard." I say, pressing every button on the keyboard.

"Oh? That's weird. Is your keyboard plugged in or are you using your wireless one?" Raven asks. I take my headphones off and stand up, walking around my desk to see that everything is plugged in. I sit back down in my computer chair and put my headphones back on. "Yeah, everything is plugged in. I don't know what's going on..." I state, moving my mouse around to see if it works. 'Nothing...' "My mouse isn't working either." I say.

"It was working perfectly fine earlier." Red says, confused. "I know... That's what's confusing me. It just decided to stop working." I grumble, rubbing my non-existent beard. Suddenly, my screen turns blue, startling me. 'Is it the blue screen of death? No, it doesn't look anything like that.'

1s and 0s fly across my screen as I try to figure out what's causing it. "Woah, Cry, why'd you disconnect?" Jund questions. "I-I don't know what's going on! My computer screen just turned blue and a bunch of binary is popping up everywhere! I think I have a Virus..." I say.

A scarily familiar cackle erupts from my speakers, sending chills down my back. My face appears on my computer screen, but it has electric blue lines running down it's neck and mask. 'The guy from my dream?! How is he here?!' "I told you I was coming, didn't I?" He teases, his laughter getting louder.

"Cry? What's so funny?" Raven asks. I stay silent, staring at the copy of myself in disbelief and fear. I stand up from my seat, but before I can take my headphones off and run, an arm reached out from the screen and grabs my wrist. I yelp in surprise as I watch myself slowly crawl out of my computer. I begin to shake as I feel that same pain in my head from my dream.

He immediately grabs my neck and shoves me into my wall, yanking my headphones out of the computer, allowing my friends' voices to come out of the speakers. A loud bang is heard as my back meets the cold, hard wall.

"You're coming with me~" Smiles menacingly. The sounds of my friend's worried voices boom from the speakers. The man turns to the speakers before turning back to me. A flash of mischief sparks in his eyes as he releases me, causing me to fall to the floor in a coughing fit. I look up at him to see electricity dancing in his finger tips. As he moves his hand towards me,
my headache grows stronger. I scream in pain as his hand touches my forehead before that same blue light from my dream engulfs me.
