Chapter 4
Change
Brook POV
I am such an idiot... kissing him.
Everything was ruined.
Harry and I have been friends for over 14 years... and we kissed.
Now all the 14 years of friendship will be over because of that kiss.
Harry was great. A great friend. He protected me from everyone and everything that harmed me... which was pretty cool. He was like my body guard... not exactly. I never knew what he was for me.
*
"Brook, can we just talk about it?" Harry plead as we got sat at the lunch table.
"About what?" I ask, as if I didn't know what he was talking about... which... I did.
"The kiss." Harry whispered.
"What about the kiss?" I question.
"How great it was." Harry smiled.
I rolled my eyes at him.
"If it meant anything to you." he looked deeply into my eyes, reaching my heart, giving me that weird feeling in my stomach again.
I couldn't help but smile. Just smile. It felt good to smile once and a while.
"Did it mean anything to you?" Harry repeated.
I thought.
Did it?
"Why did you kiss me anyway?" I asked, dodging his question with another question.
"B-because. I needed to." he said.
I looked at him.
Needed to?
"For my sake, I needed to. Seriously Brooklyn. I am being honest here. That kiss warmed me. It made me feel something I never felt before. It soothed me and calmed me. It made me realize how much I need you with me." Harry said. His eyes interlinked with mine.
People around us stared like we were acting out a Shakespeare play or something.
I didn't know what to say to Harry. Nothing at all. I don't have feelings for him. I never had really. I thought I did but it didn't. That kiss made me realize that Harry is just my friend. Nothing more than that.
"Harry, look. You are my friend, my best friend in fact. And I would like to keep it that way." I said, smiling, trying to keep it as hurtles as possible for the both if us.
He nods.
"Okay. I understand." he smiles back.
Thank goodness.
I didn't want anything to change at all. My life was far from perfect but this guy made my life seem like it was.

"I'll walk you to class." Harry offers as we hear the bell dismiss us from lunch.
Harry put his arm around me as we walked down the halls.
"Okay, here you are to math." Harry smiles, lifting up his arm that was resting in my shoulders.
"Thanks." I say, walking into the dull boring, math class.
"Take a seat." Mr. Teddy said.
Everyone sat down.
I was lucky. I got a seat that was in the back corner, nobody next to me. There was an open seat there yesterday and there is today. I hope it stays like this forever. Me... alone... in my own little corner.
Mr. Teddy started taking attendance.
"Ryan, Chloe, Sam, Daniel..." each name was followed by a "here"
"Jackson" Mr. Teddy called out.
No response.
That was the name yesterday that he called out with no response.
"Sorry I'm late." This tall, cute, brunette walks into our classroom.
"Whoa." I whisper to myself, shocked at his amazingly, stunning looks.
Jackson scanned the room for an empty seat.
"There's an open spot next to Brooklyn" Mr. Teddy points out.
Yay. Thanks
(Note the sarcasm)
"Where? Next to the hottie in the corner?" Jackson asked.
The class laughed at the boldness of his question.
Jackson walked over to me and took a seat.
"Hey." he smiles. His blue eyes sparkled.
"Hi." I smile back.
