"The way they looked at me was the worst!!"
I exclaimed.
Harry looked down and fiddled with his phone.
"I know. It was suckish..."
There was a silence in Harry's room. His navy blue walls made the room look so alternative and distant, but Harry was the exact opposite. He was so open and happy.
"So they think it was your fault?" Harry asked ending the silence.
"Yeah..."
...
"I think it might be." I looked away.
"Wh- why do you think that?"
A tear ran down my face. "I- I just-"
"Hey hey hey" Harry ran his fingers through my hair and turned me towards him.
"It's not your fault-"
"It is!! He liked me for years and I just thought he was annoying and- and he is so great and amazing and I neglected him... and even though I haven't known him for real he sacrificed himself for me. Me!!"
I bursted into tears.
// Harry pov //
I couldn't stand this. She's m-my... best friend...? Yeah. I just can't see her like this.
She's blaming herself for something she didn't do.
"Do something about it."
"I can't. I can't."

There's school again today...
I'm going to try my best to be there for her.
// Brook pov //
Harry and I entered the school. Immediately, people stared at me.
My heart was pounding. I didn't know what to do, what to say, or even if I should do or say anything.
Harry put his arm around me and whispered in my ear, "do something."
I took a deep breath.
"Look... Everyone"
People started muttering.
"I know you all are upset about um, Jake. I am too. He was the best. But you can't blame me for- what happened. I didn't do anything. My only mistake was not getting to know him."
my voice quivered, my heart sunk, and Harry and I moved on to our class.
"That was really brave. what you did." Harry held me close.
"Harry. I gotta go."
He looked at me puzzled.
"Why"
"Just to have some time to myself. Just tell Miss. B I'm sick."
"Okay bu-"
Before he could continue, I was off on my own.
