Chapter twelve

Myles' POV
After a while Briar and I decide to go back to school. As much as I wanted to stay with her we will get into more trouble if we stay. We walk back hand in hand until we reach the door. We open it and see students at there lockers. Lunch had just finished so we only missed one class. As soon as we walk in everyone stops and stares. I guess news spreads quickly around here. We ignore the looks and keep on walking. We are so close to class when the principal stands in front of us. He crosses his arm and narrows his eyes. "Where have you been?" He asks us. "Umm in class." I say, hoping he buys it. He doesn't. "Sure. Someone told me that you skipped class?" I wonder who that was? A certain Ex of mine maybe? "No we didn't we were here the whole time." Briar defends herself. "No they weren't they missed Religion." Miss Chloe yells out. We both shoot her a glare and she raises an eyebrow. Thanks Miss Chloe. "You guys get a detention." He says. "Cutting class is not allowed." I'm about to speak when Briar speaks up. "Once you think about it we aren't fighting anymore so I say we let the matter drop." "I agree 100%" we start to walk away and he puts an arm out. "You better not be late or I will give you more detentions." The principal walks back to his office and leaves us there. The final bell rings and everyone walks away to their classes. We stand there for a while until we decide to go. "I have Japanese." She says to me. "I'll walk you." I put my arm around her waist and we begin to walk. We arrive at her class and she smiles at me. "See you in detention." She pecks my lips and opens the door. She walks in. I casually stroll to my class. I knock on the door and am greeted by Mr. Stocker. "Myles you're late." "Sorry." I mumble and take my seat. All I can think about is Briar. We are now dating and I couldn't be happier. I now know that Maddie wasn't for me. She hurt people. She teased and mocked people who weren't as popular as her and I don't want to be with someone who does that. Briar is so sweet and nice but can still defend herself when she needs to. I'm super lucky to have her in my life and now that she is in it I'm not letting her go.
