Darrel

I continue to read the journal.

Full of emotions. Familiar feelings.. can’t explain why.

I feel like I’m nuts or something’s wrong inside of me. I dunno.

One thing’s for sure.

It bothers me a lot.

“I sneaked a kiss last night. I hope tulog talaga sya.”

“He never wanted me to enter his room..sabi nya may multo daw.”

“I tried to sleep sa storage room pero may daga.”

“The magic trick I will never forget.”

Some lines really stand out from the rest.

I lie awake in my bed. Staring at the ceiling.

Why do I feel incomplete?

Why do I feel like every puzzle piece in the big picture doesn’t fit.

Nothing fits. Nothing’s right.

I closed my eyes.

“Lord, shed me some light.”

Tomorrow morning, my journey will begin.

I woke up and I’m so determined to find the answers.

It’s time to do something about my sleepless nights.

The firt memory I had is when I first woke up inside the hospital.

I drove to Kyoto First Red Cross Hospital.

“Sir you were transferred here at 11:45 pm,  and you were accompanied by miss Addie Akiyama.”

“What do you mean transferred?”

“you were transferred from Ph-“ The other nurse wearing a yellow bracelet cut her off

“What she meant was you were transferred from the ER to the ICU.”

What happened that day?

“Do you happen to know why I was admitted?” I asked

“A car accident. You fell down a cliff near Shora Beach” continued the other nurse

“Can you tell me where exactly?”

“Oh, wait Sayori, I forgot to make my rounds.” The nurse with the yellow bracelet said

“Do you know where?” I pressed on

“Well sir, I’m not really allowed to tell.”

“Why? I’m the one involved so why not tell me?”

“Hey Mr. Almero, I know where your accident happened.” The nurse with the yellow bracelet returned.

“It’s on the edge of the Shikoru Cliff near Shora beach. It’s not hard to be spotted.”

I went on my way, didn’t bother to say “thanks”

I drove to Shora and I went to the police station.

New barriers were placed, ni walang trace ng aksidente. I went to the local station and asked them

“What happened to Mr. Darrel Almero’s case?” I asked

“We’ll chack our records.”

**after a while

“Sir, there is no Darrel Almero reported and not even an accident happened here for the last 3 years.”
