As Chrissy reminisced on her year in California while still laying in bed, Diane was just getting back from work.

As she walked in and sat her purse down on the table by the door, she heard her roommates alarm blaring.  A part of her felt bad for her younger friend. While she was happy that she had a job and was basically able to provide for herself, she realized that Chrissy barely got to live the life of a regular eighteen year old.

Diane walked to her friends room and opened to door, peaking her head in the room to see if she was awake yet. As soon as she saw that the eighteen year old was awake and staring at the ceiling as the alarm clock continue to blare, she let out an exasperated sigh.

She walked over to the annoying little contraption and hit it, shutting it off and climbed in bed with her friend.

"Ya know, you're gonna have to get up soon if you wanna get to work at a decent time." she spoke to her friend after a few minutes of sitting in complete silence.

"Yeah," Chrissy said, sighing a bit. "I'm just trying to enjoy it for a few more minutes."

"Enjoy what?" the older girl asked as she looked at her friend.

"Silence." Chrissy said, still staring up at the ceiling.

Diane stared at the young girl for a few more minutes, wondering what made Chrissy stay at the bar if she barely got enough sleep at night and was forced to deal with immature drunk assholes all night

"You're doing it again." said the younger girl as she took her eyes off of the ceiling and turned her head to look at her older friend.

"Doing what?" asked the older girl as she began to smile.

"Feeling sorry for me." she smiled back at her friend and climbed out of her bed and walked out of her room and down the hallway to the bathroom to take a shower and start getting ready for her long night ahead of her.

"Well sue me for being a concerned friend." shouted Diane as she climbed out of her friends bed and made her way to the bathroom to talk to Chrissy.

"Concerned about what again? Refresh my memory because I can't come up with what you need to be concerned with." Chrissy asked as she began to strip and climb into the shower. She instantly felt her muscles relax as soon as the hot water hit them.

"Oh, ya know just your well being and your sanity." Diane said as she walked into the bathroom and took a seat on the closed seat of the toilet.

"Ha! Well I can assure you that I am one hundred and twenty percent fine. Thanks for asking though, Mom. It's nice to know that some people care about me." Chrissy said as she lathered shampoo in her hair.

"A lot of people care about you for your information." Diane stated as she looked straight ahead at the ugly brown color of the bathroom wall. They seriously needed to ask their landlord if they could re-paint this place because these colors are absolutely horrible.

"Speaking of being concerned about people, have you heard from Heather?" Chrissy asked her friend as she began to shave her legs.

"Um, last I heard was that she was going to go hangout with her newest boy toy." Diane stated as she played with a string on her jeans. "And that was obviously last night so she could be dead but fingers crossed she's not."

They say in silence as they listened to the sound of running water as Chrissy continued to take her shower.

"Ya know," Chrissy said as she turned off the water and reached her hand out for Diane to hand her a towel, "one of theses days she's gonna get into big trouble and she's gonna regret not telling us where she's going or who she's with."
