Chapter 1

It was a nice breezy summer day when me and my family went on vacation to our house by the lake.

My name is Rachel I'm 15 I have two sisters and two brothers. Noah is the second oldest he's 12 , he's into soccer and other sports . Then there is Emily she's adopted , she has dark skin,nice brown hair that she likes to keep a blue flower in all the time she's 8 . Jack he's a little bundle of joy, he has these blue eyes that can make you fall in love with him when you look into them ,he's 6.lastly we have Sophie my little side kick, she has long flowing blond hair , she's always wearing all kinds of dresses but guess its cause she 4 ,she is always at my side.

A week before we went on our vacation me and Noah had picked which movie we would watch for our family movie night so we agreed on Freddie vs Jason . I don't know why we picked such a scary movie but we watched anyway . The first half of the movie we were jumping out of our seats, we had dropped the popcorn once or twice . Sophie was so scared she was squeezing me so tight I could hardly breath . Emily was hugging her pillow so tight next to jack who buried his face in moms arm. Noah who was acting all brave before the movie had started was now peeking through a small hole he had made so he could continue to watch the movie . As I was about to drink my some of my drink but the movie had made me jumped up and spilled the drink all over me and Sophie.

So dad had paused the movie so me and her could go change up stairs as I was changing Sophie had said

" is Freddie and Jason real Rachel ?"

" no Sophie it's just a movie which means its not real okay?"

" okay Rachel I believe you"

" okay good now let's go down stair before they wonder why we are taking so long ".

When we had gotten back to the living room mom and Dad were in the kitchen making new popcorn. Noah and jack were playing fighting with their pillows on the floor while Emily was fiddling with her hair. " hey Noah , jack stop fooling around mom and dad will be done soon"

" who made you boss Rachel" ,Noah said with a smirk on his face.

"Noah shut up"

" Rachel mommy and daddy don't like when someone says shut up to some one" jack said.

" sorry jack I forgot "

" it's ok Rachel I forgive you " jack said as he hugged me as if he couldn't be more cute already. Sophie had tugged on sleeve and said

" Rachel can sleep with you when the movie is over I'm too scared to sleep by myself?"

" sure Sophie you can sleep with tonight after the movie ".

When mom and dad came into the living room dad had said

" Rachel could you and Emily go get more juice packages in the basement ?"

" sure dad come on Emily "

" coming" .

When we got down to the basement we went straight to the cabinet with the juice packages when I heard a crash .

" sorry Rachel sorry if I scared you u bumped in to the table and broke a bottle "

" Emily get away from there you might step on some and cut your self "

"ok"

" pass that broom and dustpan over there in the corner"

"here you go Rachel".

As was picking up the glass I had told Emily to get the juice for me . When I had just finished picking up the broken glass I heard Emily scream so I ran to check what happened when I saw someone with a mask with a black robe on which looked much like Noah when he's trying to scare someone out of their socks after they had watched half of a scary movie , so I walked over took off his mask and smacked him over the head and said

" what do think your doing scaring Emily like that you moron "

" you should've seen your face Emily when you screamed so loud" he said well he was laughing so hard.

" laugh it up nosh cause your so dead" Emily said before she chased him up stairs leaving me be hide in the basement alone so I grabbed the juice and ran after them.

After I returned to the living room we continued watching the movie. After all the bloody scenes of the movie had come to a end we all head to sleep.

Some time in the middle of the night Sophie had woken me up to go with her to the washroom cause the movie had scared her so much that thinks there is something that will jump out and get her. If you ask me I would say you just got to watch out for Noah. I was waiting outside the bathroom door when Sophie said

" Rachel your still there right?"

" yeah Sophie I'm still here just use the washroom"

" ok but don't leave me "

" don't worry I will wait".

After Sophie had finished I thought we should check up on the other kids but none of them were in their beds so we checked in mom and dads room and there they were sleeping right next to mom and dad.

" Sophie I think Noah was scared of the movie cause he's sleeping right next to mom"

" Rachel were you scared when you were watching the movie too?"

"Yeah I guess I shouldn't tease Noah about bring scared"

" Rachel can we go to bed now? "

" okay let's go to bed now ".

After we got back to my room it didn't take us long to fall asleep. The day before we go to our house by the lake we had planned to take a trip to the zoo.

So we all got into the van and off we went of course it was a long ride to the zoo. Sophie was sleeping in her car seat next to me and jack was on the other side I'm in his booster seat playing with the toy car he had brought along to keep him busy. Emily was listening to her mp3 while looking out the window and Noah was playing his game boy dad had bought him for his birthday a month ago. I was listening to my mp3 while drawing what I was see in the car. Dad was making sure we had everything we needed for the day. Noah looked up for his game boy for the first time we left the house and said

" dad are we there yet it's been a hour how intel we get there ?"

" we well be there in a hour Noah be patient"

" okay ".

I had fallen asleep so I don't know when we got to the zoo. I woke up to Sophie shaking my arm to wake me up. When I did get up I got out of the van unbuckled Sophie and jack from their car seats. When we got in to the zoo the first thing we went to see was the elephants and giraffes. We took jack to see the monkey and Emily to see the birds. Of course we had to go see the snakes and all the gross looking animals for Noah. When we had finally got out of the snake house we went to see the rest of the animals. When lunch time came we ate at one of the food stands and found a table that could seat us all. After lunch I took the three younger kids to the washroom. Then we were off to look at more animals. After we were done and tired out we head home to pack for are trip tommorow. That night we spent 3 hours packing and finding the things we want to take along on the trip but no one told us we would never see a another birthday again or mom And dad
