When I told you we worried I never imagined I'd be in such a low state so fast. Only 6 months have passed since the election and my family has already considered leaving. We decided against it. But Trump has been deporting people so quickly regardless if they were born here or not. Other countries have noticed and threatened war if the unsavory act is not stopped.
Trump has no real power other than money and an army of supporters. His supporters report any colored people they see and those people aren't heard from afterward. It's not insane that this is happening. I believe he's been bribing congress workers and threatening others. He has so much status now that some consider him a dictator.
Nick still talks to me often but we have to be careful over the phone since the government could easily track it.
Same-sex marriage was abolished once again and gay couples have been arrested left and right. I've seen my queer friends ridiculed and beaten in public for who they are.
My brown and black friends hide inside their houses and only come outside to defend someone else. I stay hidden as well.
My mother is worried that we will be deported. She is an immigrant but my sisters and I are American citizens with a white father. My mother decides it would be best if she went back to Chile for the time being as not to cause trouble for our family. We might join her eventually.
