Chapter Six
*Avery's P.O.V.*
I woke up this morning in a rush. It was already 7:30 and we were supposed to be on the road by 8:30. I thank the goddess I packed last night or I'd be screwed beyond belief. Mason told me it will only take a little over an hour to drive to his town. When I had got up out of my bed Mason was not there anymore, however he left me another note.
Avery,
Good morning love. Do not panic about leaving so early this morning. I've decided to push back us moving about an hour. We will not be leaving until 9:30. Please get ready and then meet me at the pack house. I want you to meet a few people before we leave.
Sincerely,
Mason.
I smiled and prepared to get ready for my day.
After a quick shower, i blow dried my hair and let my curls fall freely down my back. I added light makeup to my face, and finally threw on some clothes. I decided to go with a cute graphic tee that had a superman logo on it along with a pair of jeans and my navy blue converse.
I took a look around my bedroom and sighed. I was no longer going to be living here. This room would no longer be called mine. This house would no longer be known as mine, but more as my parents's. I don't know how to feel about this situation. I feel so conflicted on what to do. Yes, I glad I have Mason, but we have our own problems we need to work out together. I, on the other hand, have to leave all of the people I care most about. I don't want to leave Violet or Grace or Ryan or Carter or my mom and dad. I don't want to leave this town. Then there's Mason. Who throughout all of the crap we've gone through yesterday he is determined to make me his. He will make a great mate, this I know, but it's so hard to get past all of his past problems.
Suddenly, I felt a pang in my chest and my wolf howled in the back of my mind.
What is the matter? I asked her.
I miss him. She tells me.
I rolled my eyes.
We are going to see him right now. Can you please calm down. I asked her.
I'm happy that she is in love with his wolf. Technically they were made for each other. Our wolves were destined to be the minute the goddess placed them inside of us. Mason and I are just conduits for our wolves. Our love for each other will stem from the love our wolves have. That was probably to most beautiful thing about being a werewolf. Growing up knowing you are a designed for one specific person is something so surreal. It makes every fairy tale you have ever read feel more like the truth than most facts.
I walked down stairs and found my parents in the kitchen. My mom set my dad's coffee mug in front of him and he looked up at her and smiled. She gave him a small kiss on his lips and he said Thank you.
"For which thing. The coffee or the kiss?" She asked kissing him again.
He hummed and then said, "Both, darling. Both."
I cleared my throat as I walked into the kitchen. My mom looked up at me and smiled.
"Hello, sweetheart," she said. She came over and gave me a kiss on the forehead. A wave of sadness fell over me as I came to the realization this was probably one of the last times I would ever wake up and walk downstairs to find my parents eating breakfast waiting for me. My mom noticed my silence and then she gave me a sad smile.
She pulled me into her arms and hugged me tightly. "Oh honey, don't be upset." My tears began to fall down my cheeks. She smoothed my hair gently. "Don't be sad because it's ending, be happy because it happened. Remember that you can always call us and we will come visit you. I'm sure when you two decided to tie the knot we will be down often to plan the wedding."
