Erens POV

                      2 Months Later

It was exactly just like they said. They were dead. Gutted in an alley.
The police said that their stomach was ripped open, intestines hanging out on the sides. Their hearts were missing from their chest and found 3 feet away from their bodies. They also said that their eyes had been also seen to be burnt out leaving their eye sockets empty. The police don' t know how could anybody do that but they informed us that they have already started investigating. But they also informed us that it might take longer than it should since they were covered in snow which wiped off all evidence to any possible leads.

That night when we found out all I could hear was Celest's moaning cries of pain. I walked past her bedroom to see how she was doing and I saw her punching her pillow sobbing uncontrollably. I slowly backed out and went back to my room.

She didn't stop, she never stopped.
Each night after that all you could hear was her crying.  After a while I blocked her out and curled into my own ball of sadness and cried silently. They laughed at me every time I would cry, they would tease me and call me weak for it. But I didn't care. I eventually blocked them out too.

But it's been 2 months since that happened. I have taken better control over myself. I have stopped crying and gained their respect back. They say I'm stronger now, that now I don't have anyone holding me back now that they took care of my parents. They keep telling me now I'm ready to fulfill destiny whatever that may be.

Since we don't have any other relatives in America we have to go and live with our Auntie Heather all the way in England. It's a far travel but it's necessary since Celest isn't a legal adult yet. She tried to argue with our social worker that she'll be turning 18 in 9 months but the social worker wouldn't listen.

"I don't want to leave and go to England, I wanna stay here with you guys, you're my only friends," I whined one day to the shadows, "I'll be so lonely without you," a tear slid down my cheek. I quickly wiped it away before they could notice. I didn't want them to be calling me weak again.

"No we're always going to be with you, wherever you go we'll be right there looking over your shoulders," whispered one of them into my ear before disappearing into the night
