Have you ever met your idol?
I have. It feels like you've just had a heart attack or you're drowning. You can't breathe because your favourite human is in front of you. And they exist. They actually breathe, speak, laugh, cry. They're real and they're right in front of you.

The first time I met him was 4th June 2015, the day before my Year 13 prom. I was out shopping with my mum.

"Babes are you ready?" My mum calls from the kitchen. I pull on my black vans and quickly grab my phone before running down the wooden stairs into the kitchen. "I can take you into town but won't be able to bring you home. Tay and I are going out for drinks. Okay?"

I nod, picking a green apple from the fruit basket "you are still coming shopping with me though, aren't you?" I ask worriedly.

"Of course kiddo" she grins, taking the car keys off the hook and leaving the house.

We've been shopping for about 40 minutes before mum hits me with the "it's getting a bit late, I need to go see Tay soon. I'll leave you with some cash and see you later?" excuse.

I fake smile "'course mum, see you later" she hands me a wad of cash and she's gone. I sigh, picking up a pair of nude heels and head to the till.

"Oops, sorry, excuse me" someone says from behind me.

I step to the left and crash into the person again. "Fuck, sorry my fault" I half heartedly laugh. I look up and am met with a mop of black curly hair.

He shakes his head and laughs. My breath hitches in my throat and I'm suddenly unable to move. It's him.  He's there. He's real and I can't do anything. I'm frozen. I go to say something but he nods at me and walks away to the queue.

I just met my idol and it was a total fuck up. I follow the man who's dressed in black from head to toe, I almost expect him to have a gun hidden under his petticoat. I stand behind him in the queue, still completely shocked that I just spoke to my idol. Suddenly he turns around and grins at me "you following me?" he laughs.

I shake my head "No I'm, I gotta pay for these. Otherwise it's called theft" I try and joke but he doesn't seem amused he just looks at me like I'm an alien and leans against the wall to my right. I can't keep my eyes off him.

Matty is so beautiful yet so unaware of it. He stands there holding another black sweater in his arms and a pair of pink socks. The store changes songs and 'Girls' starts playing and I can't help but sing along, I quickly shut up after I realise who's infront of me but he's turned around and already smiling at me. I blush and turn around, acting as if someone behind me was singing it. But it was obviously me, he places a hand on my shoulder and starts mouthing the words to me "I'm not your typical stoned eighteen year old..."

It's the best moment of my life until the employee at the till says "who's next?" Matty turns around and goes to pay for his items. I groan to myself, rolling my eyes and go to the empty till to pay for my shoes.

Once I'm done I step outside the shop and reach into my coat pocket for a cigarette, also retrieving the lighter I stole from my aunt last month. I close my eyes, light the cigarette and take in a long, deep breath.

The door of the shop rings indicating someone has just entered or left the store. I feel a presence next to me but don't bother to open my eyes and look "Gimme a puff babe?" A voice says next to me.

I pass the cigarette to my left and blow out the smoke from my lungs. "I never caught your name" he says and I open my eyes.

"You're so cliché" I laugh, taking the cigarette back from the pop star's hand. He shakes his head and smiles "it's Ina"

"Ina." He says slowly, testing the foreign word on his tongue. "Ina Ina Ina" he nods, as if approving my name. "Beautiful name for a beautiful girl" he winks and I can't keep in the laughter.

"You think I'm beautiful?" I ask, taking another puff of the cigarette.

His eyebrows furrow in confusion "of course I think you're beautiful miss Ina." I smile at him calling me miss.

"Well I'm honoured" I chuckle. I take a deep breath and say "I'm in love with you and the only thing I know about you is the way your eyes light up when you smile"

"You're in love with me?" He smiles, taking the cigarette from my hand.

"Deeply." I whisper, a goofy grin is plastered on his face.

He looks like a model in this light, his dark wild hair is resting on his forehead as the sun hits the side of his head, causing him to crinkle his left eye. He's so breathtaking. "Well" he says "I guess you'll have to deal with that won't you?" he smirks. Matty shakes his head, smiling at the ground "so what are the heels for sweetheart?"

My heart leaps at the nickname "it's my prom tomorrow night"

He nods, "interesting, and whom may have the pleasure of accompanying you?"

"No one at this precise moment in time" I throw the end of the cigarette on the floor and stamp it out.

I push myself off the stone wall with my left foot and pick up the bag with my heels in it. "May I?" Matty shyly asks.

"Huh?" I ask oblivious to the fact he's trying to ask me to prom.

He clears his throat, and blushes "please may I have the absolute pleasure of taking you to your prom?"
