(y/n)'s pov

(y/n)'s (e/c) opened slowly, bright sun beams dancing along the walls of your small apartment. You lazily pulled your thick blanket off of you and glanced at your alarm clock that sat on your bed-side table. Your eyes widened. 9:50! You had promised to meet with your good friend, (f/n), at the coffee shop down the street at 10:00. You had met her when you first moved to London about a month ago. Sure, London was a lot different than your hometown, but you enjoyed the busy city. It seemed as if it always had something new to offer.
You ran your fingers through your (h/l), (h/c) hair and threw on a pair of sweats and a (f/c) hoodie. Grabbing your phone, wallet, a pair of earbuds, and keys, you rushed out the door of your apartment and stumbled down the stairs. One you reached the lobby, you waved to the front desk manager, then scurried out the door. You didn't even notice the small chuckle they gave as they watched you hurry away. You looked down at your phone to check the time, only to see that it was 9:59. You burst off into a full on sprint, not wanting to keep your friend waiting. You didn't want them to think off you as the one person who flakes last minute.
You skidded to a halt as you saw the doors of the coffee shop. You heaved a sigh as you walked in, then looked around to see if your friend had arrived. Hm, that's weird. There was no sign of them anywhere. You picked a small table to sit at and wait for them. It wasn't like them to be late, but you just shrugged it off. You plugged your earbuds into the headphone jack of your phone. Tapping on the YouTube app, you immediately went onto danisnotonfire's channel to see if he had posted anything new. Nothing yet, so you decided to watch some of his older videos. You couldn't help but smile as you watched them. He was your favorite youtuber, after all. It was your dream to someday meet him and become friends with him. You chuckled to yourself. You knew that would never happen.
You checked up at the clock on the wall to see what time it was. 10:32. Wow, you thought, time passes really quickly when your watching your favorite youtuber. But you were still wondering as to why (f/n) hadn't shown up. You thought if you should called them, but decided to give it a few more minutes.
When the time reached 10:45, you called up our friend and prepared yourself to hear some silly excuse as to why they didn't show. You heaved a sigh as it rang. She quickly answered with a "Hey (y/n), what's up?" Sighing once more, you replied. "Where are you?" You said, ignoring her question. "Home, why?" She said, not bothering to hide the confusion in her voice. You furrowed your brow. "We were supposed to meet at the coffee shop at 10:00, remember? We've had this planned for like a week." She gave a small chuckle. "(y/n), we're meeting there tomorrow, not today!" You mentally punched yourself as she said these words. The one time you decide to get out of your tiny apartment and meet up with your only friend, you had to screw it all up.
Attempting not to throw your phone across the room, you said, "Oh god! I can't believe I forgot. Sorry about that!" Even though you couldn't see (f/n), you could tell she was giving a warm smile. "It's alright! I'll see you tomorrow!" You mumbled a small "bye" before hanging up. You felt like you wanted to curl up in a corner and rot away. It may have been a simple mistake, but still. Why do you have to mess everything up?
You figured since you were already here, you might as well get something to drink. You went up to the counter and after skimming your eyes over the menu, you decided to order a (f/b). You reached for your wallet and pulled out a couple dollars, then handed it to the barista. You sat back down at a table to wait for your drink to be called. Just as it was called, you heard the jingle of the door being opened, but you didn't bother to look to see who it was. You thanked the barista as they handed you your (f/c), then began to walk towards the door. You were too busy looking down at your phone to notice the person who was walking roughy in front of you, not paying any attention to you either.
Suddenly, you smashed into that person and stumbled backwards, losing your footing in the process. You fell the floor with a small thump and felt your (f/b) spill all over your clothes. You were about to apologize to the person you ran into, but as you looked up at them, your heart stopped. You felt frozen in place as you stared up at the person you had looked up to for as long as you could remember. The person who never fails to make you smile.
