(y/n)'s pov

You wake up the next day, your vision blurred as you open your eyes. You quickly glance over at your clock to see that the it was 8:49. This time, you were sure you wouldn't be late to meet (f/n) at the coffee shop.
As you stand up from your bed, you rub your eyes to clear your bleary vision. You begin making your way to your bathroom, this time actually being able to take a shower. Turning the handle of the shower, you begin to hum a tune. You stray from your clothes and step into the shower, the warm water pounding into your back and streaming down your skin. You do all of your shower necessities, then step out and rap a towel around yourself as you walk back to your room. You pick out an outfit, consisting of a plain black tank top, a pair of denim skinny jeans, and a (f/c) zip-up sweatshirt. Using the towel that's tightly wrapped around yourself, you dry yourself of thoroughly and slip on your clothes. You head back into the bathroom, brush out your hair, brush your teeth, apply some light makeup, then strut back into your room once more to check the time. You sigh in relief to see that it's only 9:32.
You grab your phone of the charger and click on the YouTube app, going straight to Dan's channel. As you were doing so, you couldn't help but smile as you think of what had happened yesterday. You met Dan Howell. The guy you've been obsessing with for as long as you can remember. As if on cue, your phone buzzes and you glance down to see a text from Dan. You wait a few seconds before opening it.

Dan: hey! I was wondering if you maybe wanted to come over to my place today?

You don't even bother holding a squeal of delight. He actually wanted to hang out with you! He actually liked you! You smile at the thought. You glance back down at your phone and begin typing.

(y/n): I'd love to! I'm meeting up with my friend at 10:00, and we'll probably talk for awhile, so anytime after 11:00 works for me!

As you await for Dan's response, you think of all the things that have always seemed like they were going perfect in your life, but always end up turning sour. Like the time your mother and you saw some kittens for adoption, and you had fallen in love with a little gray one. Your mom acted like she was actually going to go for it and get the kitten, but at the last minute, she denied and broke your heart. Or like the time your best friend you haven't seen in ages wanted to hang out and you were ecstatic, but they flaked at the last minute, leaving you lonely once more. You couldn't help but wonder how tho situation would turn out. Right now, you were in the "perfect" zone. This whole thing had only begun yesterday after all. But soon enough, Dan will forget all about you- just like everyone else.
You were dragged out of your thoughts when your phone buzzed in your hand. Looking down, you read Dan's message.

Dan: perfect! send me your address and I'll pick you up around 12!

Smiling, you type your address and send it to Dan. You then return to watching YouTube videos until it was 9:50, leaving just enough time to get to the coffee shop to meet up with (f/n). Grabbing your keys and wallet, you walk out the door at a moderate pace and head towards the coffee shop.
You arrive at the shop and see (f/n) already sitting down at a table with two drinks next to her. Her head whips around towards you and she goofily grins and waves to you. Oh walk over to the table and sit down. "I got here a little early so I ordered your drink for you! I hope you don't mind," she says as you take it out of her grasp. You take a sip, smiling as the flavor of (f/b) dances amongst your tastebuds. "Ah, (f/b). You know me so well," you say cheerfully. She chuckles in delight and opens her mouth to say something. "Has Dan texted you yet?" She says eagerly as you sigh. "Of course that's the first the thing you ask. But yes, he has." You reply. (f/n) begins giggling like a psychopath. "What'd he say?!" She said, her eyes gleaming with amusement and curiosity. You roll your eyes and say, "He asked to hang out." (f/n)'s smile grows. "He likes you! I knew it! You better invite me to your wedding when you-" You cut her off by giving her a glare. "We just met, (f/n). And even if we had known each other for a long time, he would never like someone like me." (f/n) shakes her head. "You may say that know, but just know that I'm going to be screaming 'I told you so' in your face when you two get married. You roll your eyes once more at her immaturity. "Haha, yeah, okay." You say sarcastically.
You and her chat for awhile before you look up at the clock on the wall, only to see it was 11:34. "I gotta run, I'm hanging out with Dan and 12." You say to (f/n). She smiles brightly and replies with "Okay! I'll text you later!" You wave to her as oh walk out the door, you stomach suddenly filling up with butterflies. You were thinking about what (f/n) had said. What if Dan really does end up liking you? You sigh. Like that'll ever happen, you think to yourself.
As you reach your apartment, you unlock the door and begin to fix yourself up slightly, by brushing your hair once more and fixing your makeup. You sit on your bed and wait for Dan, your heart rate increasing by the second. You felt as if your heart would burst as you hear a knock on the door.
