(y/n)'s pov

You feel your face burn as Dan's brilliant gaze boars into yours. You attempt to stutter out an apology, but you can't bring yourself to do it. Dan suddenly heaves himself up off of the floor and reaches out a large hand, offering to help you up. You hesitate a little, but gratefully take it and he pulls you up with ease. You look up at him and feel your face heat up even more, if that was possible. "I-I'm so sorry!" You manage to say, your eyes still glued to him. Dan gives you an apologetics and somewhat awkward smile. "It's alright."
You look down at his shirt to see it thoroughly soaked with your (f/b). You mentally face palm yourself. Great first impression, (y/n). "Let me get you some napkins," you say to him as you walk to the counter and grab a handful of napkins. You awkwardly make your way back to him and hand him the napkins, forgetting all about your stained clothes. You were still in disbelief that you were standing in front of your idol. And of course, of all situations to happen while you meet him, it had to be this one.
"Thanks." Dan's voice brought you from your thoughts. He takes the napkins from your hands gratefully and begins to rub them on his shirt. You bring a hand to your cheek to feel them still heated. Looking away from Dan, you heave a small, inaudible sigh. You feel somebody tap your shoulder and you look up to see Dan holding out a few unused napkins towards you. You take them from him, feeling your face heat up again as your hand brushes his. As you wipe down your soaking clothes, you say to Dan, "Again, I'm really sorry. I guess I'm not the best at first impressions, especially when meeting my idol!" You instantly regret saying the last part. He probably thinks your a stalker now. You expect him to make up some excuse to get away from you, but he just beams and turns away. "It's totally fine! I'm not any better at first impressions either." You chuckle. You could've sworn you say his face turn red, but you ignored it. Probably just wishful thinking. You smile as he turns to you. "I'm  (y/n)," you say, reaching out a hand. He takes your hand in his and shakes it gleefully. "I'm Dan. But, uh, I suppose you already knew that." Your face heats up slightly when he says the last part.
You were about to say something when you hear a small chime. Dan pulls out his phone and you watch as his gaze shifts upon the screen. Sighing, he looks back up at you. "I've got to get going. Phil's getting impatient and he wants his drink." You laugh lightly. "Maybe we could hang out sometime?" He suddenly asks. You try to hold in a squeal of delight and shock. Dan Howell truly wanted to hang out with you! Smiling, you reply with "I'd love to!" You and him exchange phone numbers and you walk out the door, glancing back at Dan once more and waving to him. He returns the wave and you smile to yourself as you hurry down the street, back to your flat.
As you walk into your apartment and close the door, you collapse on the coach with a satisfied sigh. You couldn't believe that this was actually happening. Sure, Dan could always never end up texting you, but still. You had hope. You reach into your pocket and pull out your phone, then unlock it and instantly call (f/n). They answer within a few rings. "Hey!" She says, having that same amount of positivity she always had in her voice. You can't stop smiling. "Guess who I just ran into at the coffee shop?" You say, your voice almost having more positivity and enthusiasm than hers. "Who?" She replied, her voice now filled with curiosity. Your smile widens. "Dan Howell!" (f/n) gasps. "Really? Oh my gosh! That's amazing! I can't believe you ran into the guy you've been obsessed with for years!! I just-" You quickly cut her off by saying, "Okay, okay, that's enough." Sure, you and her had only known each other for about a month, but she had practically known everything about you. It was crazy.
(f/n) laughs. "Well, what happened! Tell me all the details!" She says enthusiastically. You begin to tell her how you ran into him and spilt your drink on the both of you and you got him napkins and so on. You couldn't help but smile as you told her. Yeah, the situation you were in when you met him wasn't the best, but if you were truly being honest with yourself,

you wouldn't want it any other way.
