Dating The MVP

Chapter 1

Beep...beep...beep "ugh" I said rolling over to turn it off.

"JJ, get up" dad said banging on my door.

"OK, OK I'm coming" I said rolling out of bed, I walked over to my closet and got dressed for the day.

I descended down the stairs to find mom cooking breakfast. "Morning Jessica" she said kissing the too of my head.

"Morning mom" I said accepting the plate of food she offered me.

"Eat up you're going with your dad to spring training".

"Do I have to?".

"Wow JJ, I thought I would never hear you deny going to see your boyfriend" Andy said,walking into the kitchen.

"Would just shut up, I don't tease you about your boyfriend don't tease about mine".

"Ok,girls lets get going,I don't want to be late" dad said walking into the kitchen.

"Bye mom" I said kissing her cheeks and grabbing my duffel bag.

*Skip Car Ride*

We soon arrived at the field. "I'm so excited to see all the boys" I said climbing out of the car.

"I'm sure,you to are most excited because the MLB has finally let you play" dad said opening up the change room. 

"Of course I'm totally excited to finally pitch in the big leagues" I said changing into my uniform.

After changing I met Andy and dad on the field "I'm going to warm up" I said climbing up the stairs to get  out of the dugout.

I was throwing pitches when I heard a voice say behind me "wow you look even better then the last time I saw you pitch ", I turned around to find Russel Martin himself watching me pitch.

"Thanks Russ, I have big news if I tell you will you promise not to tell anyone".

"Of course JJ,what is it" he questioned.

"The MLB has finally let me pitch" I shrieked jumping up and down.

"Wow that's amazing, so are you going to be a starting pitcher?" he asked.

"No I'm not" I said.

"What, why not?" he asked again.

"I've always been a relief pitcher and I'm going to stay that way" I said brushing past him and out of the bullpen.

"Come on everyone lets gather round" Gibbons yelled,over by the dugout. Making my way to the dugout where everyone was dad started his speech. "Rookies, if you don't know me I'm John Gibbons,general manger here. Anyways we have a few new faces but most of all those of you who don't know yet,Jessica has finally been allowed to pitch in the league".

Before I could even say anything or come forward. Arms wrapped around my waist and lifted me up. "Josh,put me down" I yelled hitting his back.

"Josh,please put Jessica down before one of you gets hurt" dad said glaring at him.

"Ok,Gibby" Josh said putting me on the ground.

"Ok well I think that's all for today anyways,so all of you guys can go home" dad said walking into the dugout.

"Wait Gibby isn't the first game tomorrow" Josh yelled running after him.

*The Next Day*

Josh was right today was the first game. It was the 2nd inning and Sanchez was pitching. Before I knew the bullpen coach walked over to me, "JJ,warm up your going in" he said walking away.

Before I knew it,it was the end of the game we had won. I didn't know how this team was going to end up or if I would make it but I know this will be my new home weather people like or not.

This was my dream and I intended to keep it and live it. This my dream and no ones going to take it away from me.
