Short Talk

The bouncer stepped aside letting Octavia and Lexa pass to go into the club.

Lexa's eyes widened as she saw how big the inside really was. Colorful lights began to flash everywhere, the music was blasting loud enough that she couldn't hear her own thoughts, everyone was on the dance floor bumping and grinding on each other.

Octavia smiled and grabbed her hand, dragging her up the stairs, "Where are we going?" Lexa was oblivious. Octavia looked over her shoulder and winked, "You'll see."

As they reached the upper level of the club, a group of people where calling Octavia over the loud music. Octavia looked over at them, "Damn it," she mumbled.

Octavia led Lexa over to the group of people, "Octavia!" One of the group members called out.

"Hey you guys," she forced a smile.

"Woah, O! Who is this?"

"Everyone, this is Lexa. Lexa, meet Jasper, Finn, Wells, Atom, Bellamy, Monty, Raven and... Kane? Kane, what the hell are you doing here?"

"The wife, the kids. I don't expect you to know, but I wanted to feel young again. No wife. No kids. No worries!" He took a swig from his shot glass.

Everyone started to cheer him on, "Octavia, I should probably get going. I mean, we could do this again sometime, but tonight isn't the best night for me," Lexa said.

"We don't have to stay here, we could go somewhere else."

"Another time. Do you want to stay here or...?"

Octavia tried not to hide her disappointment, "Uh... yeah, I think I might just hang over here for a little while."

Lexa nodded, "Ok then..." she turned towards Octavia's drunken friends, "It was nice meeting you guys."

"Aw come on, the night is young! Stay a little, have some fun!" Bellamy rose his shot glass to her before drinking the liquor.

"Some other night," Lexa waved goodbye as she left the group.

"Lexa, Wait!" Octavia ran towards her, Lexa turned around, "What is it?"

"I just... will you call me later?"

Lexa rubbed the back of her neck, "Uh... yeah of course I will."

"Well you don't sound so sure," she mumbled as she looked down at her feet.

Lexa furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, "What? I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the loud music!"

"I said that I'll be waiting for your call!" Octavia shouted.

Lexa nodded, "Okay, I have to go!" She turned around and walked through the crowd to leave the club.

larke and Anya started laughing, "No wait, that's not even the best part! She looked in the mirror and her hair was gone!" Clarke joked, they laughed even harder.

Clarke's phone started to ring, she grabbed her phone and looked at the caller ID, "I have to take this. I'll be back," Anya nodded.

Clarke got up off the couch and stepped outside, she answered the phone, "Hello."

"Hey, Clarke."

"What do you want, Lexa?" She sat on the stairs in front of Anya's house

"I just wanted to hear your voice."

Clarke scoffed, "Well you've heard it, now goodbye."

"Wait, Clarke, please don't hang up," Lexa pleaded.

"What do you want from me, Lexa? Shouldn't you be with your new girlfriend?"

"She's not my girlfriend, she's just a friend who seems to be interested in me. That's all, I swear."

"I want to believe you, but..."

"Then believe me, Clarke. You know I would never hurt you on purpose."

Clarke shook her head, "But you have... I'm sorry, Lexa."

"Please, Clarke... I need you." Lexa swallowed the lump in her throat.

Clarke hung up the phone, she sighed, "I'm so tired of hurting," she whispered to herself.

Clarke dialed a number on her phone, "Hello?"

"Hey it's Clarke."

"Oh hey, Clarke! How have you been?"

"I've been better. Listen, I'm going to need you to meet me at my house."

"Why? Is everything okay?"

"I'll tell you once you get there."

"Okay, well lucky for you I'm not busy, so I'll see you there in about twenty minutes."

"Perfect. Bye."

"Later, Clarke."
