Gathered like a jigsaw puzzle - Chapter 7
When Amy got home she filled her bag with leftover pills lying around her room. It was not a lot but she didn’t think about that. She packed a few other things she thought might be important, including a couple of different types of other pills and another outfit. A couple of minutes later she was back at The Cat Eye meeting Cindy. Cindy was standing alone by the wall of graffiti. When she saw Amy she got nervous. Amy approaches her and she can really feel that Cindy is nervous.
“Hello Cindy.” Amy says to start the conversation. Somehow she does not feel at safe anymore and looks around just to make sure there is nobody watching them.
“Hi. Sorry I could not bring anyone.” Cindy says still a bit nervous.
“It’s okay. Listen, I have a plan and you’re going to help me bring it to life no matter if you want to or not. You need to.” Amy says tripping on the ground in a serious voice.
“Oh okay.” Cindy answers
“What do I need to do?” she then asks clearly aware that she owes Amy an apology for ruining her life. Amy starts explaining about what they need, who they need, what they have to do. In the end of the explanation Amy shows Cindy the pills she got in her back. She is hiding them in a skittle box, so if anyone attacks her and starts to look for them, they wouldn’t find them. When Amy shows Cindy the box, she can see that Cindy is so tempted to take it and just run. Cindy keeps starring at it. Amy thinks that Cindy might not be as addicted as she thought.
“So you got it?” Amy asks in the end.
“I think so.” Cindy says biting her lip and pulls her beanie a little up so she can focus and looks at Amy. Amy smiles and stands up from the bench they were sitting on.
“I better get moving before it is too late.” Amy says and awkwardly waves.
“Yeah bye…” Cindy half shouts at Amy who is already on her way home. Just before Amy gets to the gate she turns around and shouts at Cindy.
“I’m counting on you! Don’t let me down this time.” And she means it. No matter how much it has hurt to go through her mom’s death, and then get dragged into this madness, she is willing to give this another chance. There is nothing to lose and if she does lose then there is nothing to win. Amy smiles at Cindy and Cindy smiles back. They are both really nervous about this ‘plan’. ‘This time, please let me win God. Just for once, and then you can do whatever you want to do with me. Just help me save him. Please.’ Amy thinks as a tear runs over her chin.
Next day
Amy is sitting on her front step of her house. She is waiting on Cindy. Today she has put on a little sexier outfit. She is wearing a dressy shirt and some shorts with leggings underneath, even though it’s nearly winter. It actually snowed a couple of weeks ago. She remembers that, some things just pop up in her head but it is mostly irrelevant stuff. Now Cindy is coming. She is wearing a hoodie and a cap. Amy asked her yesterday to wear that. It is a part of the plan.
“Hey Amy! I’ve got some friends to help me, but they won’t be here until fifteen minutes before he is coming.” Cindy says sounding a lot happier today than yesterday.
“Great! We better get working we have a lot to do.” Amy says and goes through her front door with Cindy following her. Her dad is not home yet so they have the whole house for themselves.
“Firstly my dad works with something medical I think so I got this from him. Just so you didn’t think I stole it.” Cindy says handing a couple of syringes and a few other things like that.
