Hello peeps!! Sorry it's been a while!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!" I squealed as I sped down the dark blue water slide and eventually splashed down straight into the warm pool below.
I heard a loud high pitched scream and then a few seconds later Em landed directly next to and we both giggled and then slowly swum our way to the edge of the pool and climbed out.
The boys were sitting on the edge of the pool so we walked cautiously on the wet slippery path to sit next to them.
"Enjoying yourselves?" Ollie asked with a smirk on his face.
"Yes thanks, when do we have to leave?" Em asked still slightly out of breath.
"Well that's what we were going to say, we need to leave now because Mum wanted us back for 3:00 and it's 11:00 and we still have a lot to go and see." James answered.
"Oh. Ok, we will just go and get changed them." Em said and we both got up and rushed towards the changing rooms to get changed.
In record time, we came out of the changing rooms after about 10 min and the boys were waiting outside for us.
"Ok ,ready to go?" Ollie asked.
We both nodded and then we made our way back along the path we went along to get here and then James went back into the house, leaving Em, Ollie and I waiting outside.
"He's going to get the driver to drive us into town." Ollie explained after looking at our confused faces.
"Ooooh... so we're not going in the limo are we?" I asked, because although I'm not saying I didn't like going in the limo it's just that if you turn up at town in a limo it would be slightly embarrassing, especially as everyone would be staring at us for two reasons! 1. We just climbed out of a limo and 2. we are completely new around here.
"Oh no! Dad only brought that to try and impress you, we only use it every so often. We normally just use a range rover." Ollie assured us after seeing our worried expressions.
"Oh ok. Sooo what do you like to do for fun?" I asked feeling an awkward silence coming on.
"Ermm.. well I like to play football, as in English football not American football..."
"Well ,we kind of guessed that Sherlock! You do live in England!" Em interrupted, causing me to stifle a laugh.
Ollie sent us both a death stare and then continued...
".. and I like swimming, both James and I do, hence the pool, and I also like rugby, just not as much as football."
"Ooh, cool. As you might have guessed from all the squealing at the pool, me and Em also love swimming as well." I said in reply.
"Yeah, no I didn't hear the high pitched pig sounding noise penetrating my ear drums." Ollie said sarcastically.
"Ok, no need to get sarcastic with us. We were only lightening up the mood with some humour."
"Sorry, so was I." just as Ollie said that James sauntered casually out of the house and announced to us that the car would be out of the garage any second and to get ready. We all nodded and headed over to the garage, which door had now been opened.
The car drove out slowly and we all clambered into the back because it was quite wide, but it was still quite a tight squeeze and I'm not sure is completely legal, but you know YOLO!
You know I hate that saying, YOLO. I only say it when I'm being sarcastic. I mean You Only Live Once, Nooo really? I didn't know that. Also its soooooooooooooo over used. People are like "oh yay I've just been to the loo....YOLO!". Wow, well done to you.
I just don't get it, but anyway I think I might have finished my rant.
Meanwhile I was having a rant in my own head, we had pulled out of the driveway and were heading towards the town. I was really curious about what would be different in England to what its like In California.
We chatted for about 10 minutes, and because the windows were mostly blacked out we couldn't really see anything anyway, the car pulled to a stop.
"Ok kids. I'll be here at 2:30 to take you home." Sam said from the front seat.
"Thanks Sam. We will." We all chorused back, like the good little children we were.
We jumped out of the car, one by one, onto a long high street, with lots of shops that I had never even heard of, which wasn't very busy as it was a Sunday and so I'm guessing people will be at church and having Sunday dinner.
Once we were all out of the car we followed James and Ollie up the not very steep hill up the high street, and towards the direction where most of the shops were.
The first shop that we followed James and Ollie into was not unsurprisingly the sweet shop. It looked very welcoming with large glass jars full of every different type of sweet I could think of plus more!
"Hello." said that shopkeeper, who was a sweet looking lady who looked about 65.
"Hi," we all chorused back before wondering around the shop before James and Em both bought a large gobstopper each and then we left.
"Right so where are we going now?" asked Em.
"Well, we're short on time so we were going to take you to our school, which should be open because there's a production next week so there's rehearsals going on this weekend. Its about a 10 minute walk from here." Ollie answered.
"So, do you enjoy it at school or is it boring?" I asked, very anxious about going to another school, especially an English school.
"Yes I suppose its quite a friendly school, but like any school there are certain lessons which are sooo boring. For example maths. You just have to hope for the good teachers." James answered before Ollie could say anything too bad about the school.
After a few minutes of silence, me and Em just taking in the surroundings as they were so different than in America, we soon saw a sign with "Sandgrove High School" on it.
Behind the sign there was a huge red brick building that I guessed was the school. It was about twice the size of our old school. Great this makes me feel even more nervous.
Thanks for reading.
