Thanks for 200 reads!!!!

I pulled myself away from Phil, running into our flat. Police were everywhere. Surrounding the place. I ran through the kicked open door,
"Hey! Someone get this kid outta here!" Someone yelled.
I was focused on whatever happened and wasn't able to hear the group of people. Finally I see people quickly rolling Dan out of the flat on a gurney. I finally understood he was hurt, but I wasn't aware of how bad.

"DAN!" I shouted

"Alex, he will be okay..." I heard Phil say.

"How do you know?!"

"I don't..." I heard Phil say under his breath

I was scared, would he be okay? Phil eventually picked me up and took me to an uber he called. I never knew how strong he actually was. We were driven to a hospital were Dan was taken. I just wanted too see Dan. That's all. I wasn't aware I was crying and had black makeup smeared down my pale cheeks. I hoped he would be okay, but deep in my mind I knew something was wrong. I didn't know what however. We were told Dan would be taken into surgery as soon as possible, I didn't understand how we could just sit and wait. Yet we did.

"Maybe you should do your homework while we wait..." Phil said trying to hide tears.

I forgot I brought my bag, I had nothing else to do though. Homework, great.

We sat and waited for what felt like forever, forever is a long time may I remind you. Finally a doctor came out with a worried look on his face. Phil and stood up when we saw him.
"Is he okay!?" Phil asked
"I'm afraid not so much..." The doctor said
"Wha-..." I said under my breath. I was scared. More scared than I had ever been. He was my father. He is my father.
"Daniel is severely injured, and is expected to have a full recovery" the doctor continued.
"Can we see him...?" Phil asked
"Yes. Right this way..." The doctor said walking off. We followed. We saw Dan hooked up to many machines and tubes everywhere, but if it helped him recover I was okay. Suddenly machines started beeping and flashing while Dan started shaking. I didn't know what was happening as doctors ran in. Phil picked me up and ran me back to the waiting room. Then I hear what I never wanted to hear as we were running out.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep the flat line.

Phil stopped and we just looked towards Dan's room in silence. He was gone. Forever.
