I need to get out of here. The mural in my room isn't helping my terrified thoughts.
The duvet on my sweaty body wasn't exactly comfortable so I got up and walked, more like trampled, to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror at my bloodshot eyes and messed up ponytail.
Who knew a dream could have such a big affect on a person?
I opened the cabinet under the sink and took a wash cloth out. I turned the sink on so that the water was too hot and put the wash cloth under the water. The hot cloth stung a bit at first but then relaxed my face quickly. After washing my face, I put the wash cloth in the hamper and removed my ponytail. Since I couldn't care less how I looked while seeing Meredith I just brushed my hair and put the ponytail back in.
Without changing my clothes I pulled Uggs on and went outside. The grass is wet but I don't mind. The sky is a gloomy after-rain kind of blue which matched the dull trees and grass.
I started stepping into the backyard when something caught my eye. I walked up to what looked like a piece of paper and picked it up. A letter? The cover read 'Violet' so I opened it.
Vi,
I'm sorry. I've never felt worse in my life. Since you didn't give me a chance to say bye well I guess this is the goodbye. The lads and I are going on a 2 month tourish thing. I thought you should know. I know there's something we need to talk about it and believe me, we will. Don't hate me for leaving, I'm probably crying as you read this letter. I love you, Vi. Forever and always.
-Harry
How am I supposed to wait two months? Ok, now I sound selfish.
I stuffed the letter in my pocket and continued walking. I walked into the damp forest confused about where the rock was. I have only been there once...
I walked for another half an hour then finally spotted it. The feeling of sensation crowded me as I walked into the field.
"Violet?" Meredith was sitting on the huge rock with a confused and worried expression. I sighed in relief that she was here.
"Meredith, oh thank god you're here." She just nodded almost as if she knew I needed to talk to her.
"Come, we'll talk about this in private." By private she meant Secret Place and I happily walked over to the rock.
I placed my hand in hers and the other on the rock feeling the same lifting feeling from the other night. In only seconds I opened my eyes to the breathtaking over saturated view. I looked at Meredith and she smiled sitting on the ground.
"Sit and tell me what happened." I nodded and say down across from her.
"I had a horrible dream and Harry is gone and I thought I was attacked but I think I wasn't just... Ugh, it's been tough since I saw you last."
"Attacked?"
"I heard this voice and-"
"You heard the whisper." Meredith cut me off with a terrified expression. "C-Continue..."
"Um.. I heard the voice and then something or someone grabbed my arm. Then Harry was there and, uh, it was just a branch. But I swear something grabbed my arm! It wasn't just some branch!" I let out a stressful sigh.
"What did the voice say, Violet?"
"Beware the bad man." I cringed for some reason at the words.
"No. It can't be. Not yet." Meredith whispered to herself. What does she mean not yet? "And... Harry left?"
"He just left. I found this note actually while coming to see you." I handed her the envelope.
