The music is on low as Austin talks about all of the things he is planning to do while back home. I am driving to the gig since I am continuing on to Watford from there while Austin is getting on a train to his home town.
"Maybe you'll come down for a day? What do you say?" He questions.
"I'm not sure I'll be able to... I promised Linda I'd visit, and Sam said he made us plans and El and Perrie want to hang," I mumble the end to myself.
"El?" That's Eleanor right? The one who called you the other day? That is a new name," He states only hearing about Liam and Perrie.
"No... she's a close one.. I'm sure you heard of her," I lie.
We talk about school and the fact we thought that Julie and Liam would be great for each other but nothing seemed to come out of our double date.
"How much are you excited from 1 to 10?" Austin asks as we enter London.
"20," I smile at him. Truth is I'm anything but excited. I'm terrified.
We are quiet the rest of the way which isn't that surprising since this is the kind of relationship we have.
I park the car a few streets down since there is no parking next to the pub.
As we make our way Austin takes my hand in his, giving it a slight squeeze. I move closer to him, reminding myself that this is me now. A college student with a new boyfriend- a new life and I shouldn't apologize for it.
Austin hands in our tickets and we go in.
It is dark inside and crowded. I make a point not to look sideways afraid to see them.
"Cassie! Cassie over here!" I hear Perrie's voice call.
"Hey! Isn't that Perrie?! Austin points, recognizing her from the photo up in my dorm room. I take a deep breath and turn. She is sat with everyone. Everyone but him. So we make our way over, while I master a smile on my face.
"Haya love!" She hugs me a little longer then she should.
"He isn't here," She whispers in my ear.
"Hi sweetie," Eleanor is next.
"You should join our table you two, I'm Eleanor," She introduces herself to Austin.
"I'm Austin," He shakes her hand. El says the names of the people around the table and they all answers hello politely.
We take a seat. I sit in between Perrie and Austin, facing Louis and El.
"Long time Shorty," Louis calls out to me.
"How's the shack doing?" grin at him.
"Good... missing you... left it in the hands of Niall and Demi for today," He claims.
"The shack?" Austin questions.
"It's this pub Louis owns.. it's a big hit back home," I explain.
"You must love this Ed bloke if you left it for the evening then," Austin says.
"Anything for Ed.. He's a good friend.. We are here as support," Louis claims.
"Wait you all are friends with him? Like know him?!" Austin sounds surprised.
"Well yeah- even Cassie.. Ed taught Cass to play the guitar for a while," Zayn speaks up. I notice the shove he gets from Perrie before turning to a shocked Austin.
"You never mentioned that you are friends.." he crinkles his forehead.
"You were so excited about the tickets.. I didn't want to spoil it for you," I whisper to him.
He nods though I can tell he is letting it go for now since we have an audience.
"So Austin, how did you and Cassie meet?" Louis changes the subject.
"It's quite a funny story actually! I was coming the corner at the hallway and Cass was coming the other side and I kind of slammed into her making her books fall," He smiles and it takes all that I have not to cringe.
"She dropped her coffee too so I got her to agree to me buying her a new one and the rest is history," He chuckles.
"You don't say," Louis smirks.
"It was hard to see her.. She's so small," Austin jokes.
"You Shorty have a pattern," Louis states, making Zayn snort.
"Ha? Am I missing something?" Austin seems slightly lost.
"No.. Louis is just being a clown that's all," I hurry to say, kissing Austin's cheek.
"There was a rumour you'll be here miss Price," a voice behind me says.
"Ed!" I cannot help but smile widely. I jump up to give him a hug. Ed holds me tightly, reluctant to let me go.
"God Ed.. I've missed you," I murmur in his ear.
"Me too darling, you need to make plans to visit me more often.. We can still be friends you know," He whispers.
"Ed! I want you to meet my boyfriend," I turn to Austin.
"This is Austin," I introduce them.
"Lovely to meet you mate, any friend of Cassie is a friend of ours," Ed shakes his hand. I don't miss the roll of Louis's eyes, but thankfully Austin does.
"Thanks man, means lots," Austin grins.
After saying hello to the rest of the squad, Ed excuses himself to get ready.
"He's something," Austin says into my ear as he drapes an arm around my shoulder.
"He most definitely is," I agree.
"Your friends on the other hand.." he lets the rest hang.
"Give them a chance they don't make good first impressions," I whisper back, standing up for them even though they don't really deserve it.
"Het Austin- what are you majoring in?" Eleanor gives another try in making him feel comfortable- bless her.
"History," He replies.
"And do you enjoy it? What semester are you in?"
"My third, and yes, I was always big on history so.."
"You're a geek just like Cassie- match made in heaven," Louis jokes.
"What do you do? Are you in college?" Austin asks El.
"I finished with college, I am working as a manager in ASOS offices now," she says.
"That is fantastic!" I exclaim happy for her.
"And you Zayn?" Austin questions.
"I fix race cars," He answers shortly.
"Like a mechanic?"
"No... I don't fix just any car.. race cars.. Customize them," Zayn sounds slightly annoyed.
"Zayn is like the car whisperer- he can make any car work- he's that good," Perrie hurries to say.
"I just want to say a few words," Ed's done with his first set of songs and stops now to talk to the crowd.
"My next song was written for two of my close friends which I am fortunate to have with me today- this song was written a few years ago about their relationship and I am excited to sing it for you now," then the music starts to play and it's the song Ed wrote about Harry and I.
He said both friends?
I glance startled sideways. He cannot be here! He just can't.
"Cassie!" Eleanor holds on to my arm. I glance at her and she nods to the far end. I follow her eyes and that is when I see him.
"What's wrong?" Austin catches my panic, though I ignore him since HE is watching us. He starts pacing our way and I am alarmed. He is not supposed to be here!
"Styles is in the house!" Louis shouts when he notices Harry and him and Zayn bang on the table.
"You could have told us you'll be showing your face mate!"
"He likes his dramatic entrances," Eleanor smirks. The crowd around us is noticing Harry too, watching us and whispering. I hope I am long well forgotten for anyone to remember me.
"Make him room- scoot over people," Louis orders us.
I glance up at him. He is staring at me. I turn away feeling my cheeks flush. It doesn't matter- we broke up, he doesn't even remember who I am so it doesn't matter. . I am here with Austin, and Harry.. Harry and I are over.
"Hi, I'm Harry," he is stood in front of us, his hand stretched for Austin to shake.
My eyes shoot up to watch him.
"Nice meeting you, I'm Austin."
"Cassie," Harry nods at me.
"Harry," I reply in the same manner.
"So are you with Cassie?" Harry questions.
"I am.. You know each other?" Austin seems confused.
"Apparently," Harry smirks. Then he turns away and sits between Perrie and Eleanor.
"Nice lad," Austin states.
"Yeah.."
I am distracted by him being here. When I can I send secret glances over to him. His hair is longer then what I remembered and the scars on his face are almost gone, faded as if they were never there.
"So where is Lola?" Zayn asks.
I listen carefully for his answer.
"I dumped her," Harry shrugs.
"Thank god for that! I told you! You guys ended it a long time ago you should have never called her to get back together," Louis chuckles.
"What can I say.. I didn't remember her being A psycho," Harry smirks again and my heart flutters. I hate him for still having this effect on me.
"I'm sorry to hear that," Austin claims. Everyone looks up at him.
"You just broke up with a girlfriend right?" He hurries to ask afraid he got it wrong.
"Yeah man.. She was crazy so it's alright.. a good thing we ended it," Harry winks and for a slight moment I have this feeling he winked at me.
"Yeah.. He dated her like 3 years ago.. Dumbass for taking her back," Zayn jokes.
"Why did you if she's such a handful?" Austin inquires and I wish he would just shut up.
"Like I said.. I didn't remember," Harry shrugs, picking up Perrie's beer and taking a galp.
"Harry was in a bad accident a year ago and lost some of his memories," Eleanor explains in a soft voice.
"Oh wow... " Austin is surprised.
Harry shrugs again, taking another swig of beer.
"That sucks mate,"
"That's what you get, racing your motorbike without a helmet," I mutter to myself. However it is heard well by my friends.
"Race?" Austin asks.
"Yeah.. it was stupid I suppose," Harry agrees.
"You should have known better," Zayn claims, a frown on his face.
"I'm confused," Austin states.
"Harry is a racer.. a good one, he was out in California racing when he decided to take on a motorbike race and did it without a helmet," Louis explains.
"You were on California!" Austin states staring at me. Perfect.
"Err yeah... with Harry," Zayn raises a brow.
"With Harry?"
"I.. can we talk about something else?" I ask.
"But why? Didn't you tell him about Harry? I mean he was a big part of your life," Louis points out.
"Louis!" Eleanor scolds him.
"You know what.. I think.. I think you all have a lot to figure out.. Cass I think I'm going to head home," Austin says getting up. He finally realised there are much more secrets and stories he is not a part of, which made him feel even less comfortable, enough to make him want to leave.
"No Austin- stay!" I beg him.
"I'll call you tomorrow," He kisses my cheek.
"Wait.. I'll come with you!" I decide. Louis can be such a dick at times and I don't feel like being their punching bag for the evening.
"No.. I really think you should stay," he says in my ear, placing his palms on my shoulders.
"Promise me you'll call me once you get home?"
"Sure, it was nice meeting you lot, have a good night and merry Christmas," Austin waves at them.
"Nice meeting you Austin!" Perrie and Eleanor say.
"That! That was uncalled for!" I scold Louis and Zayn once Austin is out of view.
"You acted like two year olds! What was that supposed to be? You didn't need to make him feel like an outsider!" I exclaim.
"We were just having fun.. no reason getting all worked up," Zayn shrugs.
"Cassie's right," the girls back me up.
Harry just sits there watching us which makes me even more annoyed.
"I'm leaving.. I'll call you tomorrow," I tell Eleanor and Perrie. I don't say anything to the others, just turn my back to them and walk out.
I walk down the street to where I parked my car.
"Cassie! Wait up!"
I stop, surprised to hear his voice call my name.
"Let me walk you.. How are you getting home?" He shoves his hands into his pockets.
"My car is parked right there," I point.
"You drive now?" he raises his brows in surprise.
"You remember now?" I roll my eyes at him.
"That is one of the reasons I came tonight.. I was told you'll be here and I had to tell you..

I remember...
