What's It All About, Maine?

Part Seven

That night Maine gave Judie her boyfriend's cellphone number. Kahit na anong pigil nya sa sarili na huwag, no way. This might be important for Alden. She knew her boyfriend's dream, to become one of the well-known architect in the country. And, for the love of God, she cannot be the hindrance.

She also texted Alden about Judie's preposition, whatever that is, and she informed him that she gave her his number. To Maine's surprise, it seems like Alden knew about it already, di na kasi nagtanong pa sa kanya.

The following day, Judie texted Maine informing her that she would like to meet up with her, kung pwede daw sana isama na rin ang boyfriend niya, si Alden. So, alam na pala niya na sila na ni Alden, Maine thought.

After Alden fetched Maine at her house at around 6pm, they went to Starbucks Shaw branch, the one near Judie's office. It turns out she works now in an architectural firm, the Recto & Mapa Architects, a very prestigious company of which all architecture graduates slash new architects dreamed of working someday.

Judie arrived 15 minutes after, with a good looking guy in tow.

"Hello. Sorry guys, ang hirap kumawala sa office.", Judie said after kissing Maine on the cheek and nod at Alden.

"Ok lang Judie. It gave us a little bit alone time with each other." He winked at Maine, that made her blush, she gave a nudged on Alden's arm. Maine quickly got back at her realization that Judie is with someone. She looked at the tall guy behind Judie.

"Ay oo ngapala. Alden and Maine, please meet my boyfriend, Architect Domingo."

"Hi Alden. Hi Maine. I've heard so much about you guys. Madalas kayo ikwento sa akin ni Judie this past few weeks."

"Oo. Kinukwento ko kayo sa office namin. Especially nowadays na kulang kami sa tao. Ang sabi ko may kakilala ako na magaling at pursigido sa dating university na pinasukan ko. Although I told them, graduating pa lang. That's why I was there on your graduation Alden. I just wanna make sure nag graduate ka nga."

"So what's your deal Judie? Why are we here?", Alden asked. Hearing about a possible job at Recto and Mapa Co. made him feel a little bit antsy.

"I want to offer you job guys. You Alden as a junior architect, alam ko you haven't had your board exam yet, but I got a feeling you can manage. Besides, you can consider this as an actual practice while you review for the board." She looked at Maine, who intently was listening to her. "You can do autocadd for us Maine if you choose to say yes. You still have 2 more years in architecture, right?"
