I really hope you enjoyed it, I spent a whole lot of time developing the plot and the characters. A lot of GNR fanfic is pretty much the same these days, whether you're a gunner or not, and so I kinda set out to change that.
I took this crazy idea for a plot and turned it into something I've never seen before, I don't know about you but I think it turned out pretty great!
DETAILS:
Jesse Jackson: He was a real historical figure throughout the Civil Rights movement, and he did run for president in the 80's, never to be elected. I twisted history around for the sake of this book of course, the first black president wouldn't come for many more years!
Axl Rose/The Gingerbread Man/ The Rebel Sergeant: His character/ personality was drawn from a number of things, including the fact that he is kinda a jackass in real life, but did have a soft side for the ladies. (Though his serious relationships never worked out, this isn't the point). I did change up the story of him and Erin a little bit for the story, hope you didn't mind.
Steven: POPCORN!
Slash: It took a whole lot of debating about whether or not he should be the main male character here, since he and Axl are always competing in my head to be my favorite member of GNR. Axl won here, only because Slash is a main character in my other book, Perennial Love.
Cap/The Captain: I drew many personality traits of his from his character in Labyrinth, the obsession with a young girl and the controlling nature came from there.
Dirty Dancing/Sixteen Candles: Movies from the 80's, most people have seen them. Johnny Castle and Baby are the main characters, who share in this forbidden love. If you haven't seen it, I would so recommend it. I also love the movie Alien, btw. ;)
