Every family has a home but I'm not really sure I can say that for everyone.
In this 21st century of ours, finding a home is very difficult.
You'd ask why I'm saying this...
Of late I'm even starting to doubt if there are even families anymore. As usual I'll put myself under scrutiny.
My family for the past years has kept on growing apart gradually.
It has gotten to the point where we the children in this family get frustrated whenever we get a call from our dad telling us he's almost home. This is because for the past 7years my dad has been working in another part of the country and only comes home on weekends.
You'd think I should rather enjoy the weekend with him rather than complaining.
The problem is despite him not being around all the time, he has grown to become a pain in the neck. Once he's around things become very awkward at home. There's so much tension that you can actually smell it.
Things have gotten to a point where even my little sister who claims to be a daddy's girl gets excited when the weekend is almost over. Now moving on to my mum, she has always been there for us but is very overprotective.
Before I can go out to see a friend I have to tell her the day before or first thing in the morning. As if that isn't enough I have to tell her reasons why I'm going to that friend's place.
After all that she now has to think about my request which is mostly turned down with some flimsy excuse. The worst part of it is when I'm able to convince her then she calls my dad tells him and all of a sudden she has a change of mind.
At the moment she's gone to school so the house is free from any annoying adults.
I get to do almost anything I want(my big sister is afraid she might get into trouble so she sets some kind of boundariesI'm sure you'd be thinking "how can anyone live like this?". Welcome to my world of restrictions.
This has at least given me the chance to learn how to always have a backup plan and sadly taught me how to lie like a pro. Most teens can relate to this to some extent. All I have to say is, try your best to enjoy time with your family cause u don't know when anyone amongst them might leave this world for good.
