(Undyne's P.O.V)
I left the lab to let Red do his... um... thing I guess. I don't know how he is so sure this will work. It can't, could it? So many thoughts that I didn't want was going through my head. Get out of my head, damn it! Ugh. I'm pretty sure I must have been stomping up those metal stairs when I was leaving the lab. Red's going to be wondering about that. I slammed the metal door shut and leaned against it, sighing heavily. I felt the cold wind rush past me, making me shiver slightly. At that moment I slid down against the door and down in the snow. I put my face in my hands and groaned. I hate this. Why did this have to happen??? She didn't deserve this!!! Just why??? Tears stung in my eye and I tried to keep them from falling. I slammed my fist in the snow and stood up, sighing. I ran to where the dog was throwing ice into the river and walked up to him."Uh hey." I said. He looked up at me in surprise and nodded his head.
"Hello, Miss Undyne. What can I help you with?"
"Uh... Do you mind if I take one of the heaviest blocks of ice you have and throw it out for you?" He looked at me with confusion.
"Uh, why?"
"Just 'cause." I answered plainly, starting to feel the irritation coming over me. He just raised an eyebrow and motioned for me to come that way. I jumped over the fence and ran to get the block of ice. I grabbed onto it and lifted it up in the air, holding it above my head.
"NGAHHHH!!!" I chucked it in the water, so hard that when it hits the surface of the water, pours of water rained down on us. When we saw it floating away, we both just stood there, with water dripping off of us. His head whipped up at me and gave me a slight glare. I looked down to the left at him and gave a sheepish smile, sweat trickling down my head with the water.
"Well, Miss Undyne, I'll be taking it from here. But thank you though. (I guess...)." The dog said, irritated. I just gave a small smile.
"Uh, yeah. Sorry about that." I said quietly. I hopped back over the fence and walked away, frowning and sighing. I heard him start to throw the ice back in the river. I walked back into the main town, head hung low. When I was walking, I must have walked past someone that was trying to get my attention.
"Undyne?! Wow, hey, what's up???" The person said. I lifted my head up slightly and saw Monster Kid with the biggest smile, smiling up at me.
"Uh, I'm good, kid." I answered with a big smile. It soon falters and I'm standing there with a small frown. He looks at me with a frown and a concerned expression.
"U-Undyne? Are you alright?" He asked me worriedly.
"Yeah, I'm doing just fine. Look, I gotta go, ok? I-I'll see ya later, kid." I mumbled. I walked past him and he looked at me with a frown. I also saw the town's people giving me glances when I walked past. I grunted and walked to the Skeleton Brothers house and opened the door, slamming it shut behind me. The three jumped and looked at me, seeing the water dripping from me.
"UH, UNDYNE? WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?" Papyrus asked me confusedly. I just grunted.
"Nothing you need to worry about, Pap." I grumbled. I walked past the living room table and saw Flowey with a raised eyebrow. I rolled my eye and grumbled all the way to the bathroom upstairs. I looked in the mirror and gave a heavy sigh. Maybe I shouldn't of done that... Well, hell with it. I grabbed a towel and it immediately got soaked fully from only a small bit of the water from me. I groaned and went to get another towel when I realized there were no more. I cursed under my breath and heard a light cough. I looked to my left at the doorway and Alphys was standing there with a concerned expression and a towel in her arms.
"U-Undyne, are you a-alright?" She asked me. I gave a sigh and took the towel from her.
"I don't know anymore, Al. What are we going to do?"
"Well, what did Red say? Where is h-he?" She asked. I just looked at her.
"Some kind of machine that he thinks can restore Frisk's soul. That's what I'm worried about. There's a possibility it couldn't work, and what would we do then?"
"Well, we w-won't know unless it's h-happened! I believe in him!" Alphys said, giving me a small smile. I smiled back and sighed.
"Yeah... I do too. C'mon, let's go tell Papyrus and that stupid flower." I said, laughing a bit. She gave a small laugh and we both made our way downstairs, to be met with a pissed off Flowey.
"I heard that!" Flowey growled. I smirked and bared my teeth.
"Whatever flower." I replied back with a slight laugh. He just growled. So, we explained everything to the two and they nodded. For the rest of the day, I just spent time in the house. At times though, I pondered at what Red was doing. Curiosity getting the better of me, I got up from the couch at night and made my way out of the house, going behind it. I opened the metal door and made my way down the stairs, hearing the sound of... something? I walked down the stairs to see this tall metal machine, in... well... all it's glory? I raised an eyebrow and saw Red coming from behind it, a wrench in hand.
"Uh hey, dude." I said. He looked up at me and wiped the sweat from his head.
"Oh, hey." Red said plainly.
"So... What's up? How's it coming? And what's that?" I asked curiously. He just rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"You ask too many questions. This is the regeneration machine. It's not anywhere close to being finished." Red said, grunting a bit.
"Oh. Wait, that's not close to finishing? That's looks like the opposite!" I said, disbelieving what I was told. He just gave me a slight glare.
"No. It's not close to finishing." Red said bluntly, continuing to work. I just sighed and turned to exit the lab, sighing at the things that I just wished didn't have to happen.
