Ash was the first to wake up in the morning. He walked out of his room tiredly into the living room, and noticed a piece of paper on the coffee table.

"Dear Ash,
Thank you for letting me stay the night, I really appreciate it. I would've stayed for breakfast, but I really had to go. I left you a little something on the kitchen table before I left though. Use them wisely! Have fun with Zorua ;)
Your Friend,
Brock"

Ash shook his head slightly, set the note back down on the coffee table, and walked into the kitchen. He noticed a box on the table, and walked over to it. He opened it and noticed it was filled with pokéballs.

He picked one up, and began observing it. "Empty.", He said to himself. "What's empty?" came a voice from behind him. Ash turned around to see a yawning and barely awake Zorua looking at him.

"Oh, these pokéballs. Brock left them for me before he left." Zorua looked at him curiously.

"Well, what are you gonna do with them." Ash smiled slightly, remembering Zorua playing with Brock's pokémom. "We're gonna get you some new playmates."

Zorua smiled very widely.

After eating breakfast, Ash and Zorua headed outside. Zorua looked at Ash, "So, what's the plan?" Ash looked ahead, checking out their surroundings. "We're gonna look in the tall grass." Zorua nodded and looked ahead as well. "Well lets go!"

Zorua ran into the tall grass, and Ash walked behind her.

"Hey Ash?" Zorua yelled. Ash looked at her from where he was, which was quite far. "Yeah?", he yelled back.

"I think I found a good pokémon!"
Ash shook his head slightly, doubting what she was saying to him. Zorua literally said that for every single pokémon she saw. "Alright, I'm coming."

Ash walked to where Zorua was, being careful not to step on any other pokémon in the grass. He arrived to where she was, and saw exactly what she meant by good pokémon.

"Hey, a Houndour! That's awesome Zorua." She was on the ground, petting the small black dog pokémon. She looked up and smiled at Ash, "So are you going to catch him?"

The Houndour looked at Ash and Zorua longingly. Ash smiled slightly and nodded, "Well, he seems to like you a lot. So sure, why not."

Zorua hopped up excitedly, smiling widely. She looked at Houndour, and the Houndour nodded slightly while looking right back at her. Zorua ran behind Ash, so she wouldn't get in his way.

"Go ahead Ash, try to catch him!" Ash laughed slightly, "Alright, alright." He pulled out a pokéball, and looked at the Houndour. "Are you ready Houndour?" The pokémon looked happy, and barked a bit in response.

Ash nodded, and threw the pokéball at Houndour. It tapped the pokémon's head, opened up, and sucked the pokémon inside. The ball fell to the ground, shook once, twice, three times, then clicked. Ash successfully captured Houndour.

Ash walked over to the ball and picked it up. Zorua was grinning from ear to ear. "Let him out! I wanna playyyyy.", Zorua said. Ash sighed and shook his head, then smiled slightly.

"Oh alright, fine." Ash said as he let Houndour out of the pokéball. As the pokémon came out of the pokéball, it was jumping around excitedly and barking.

Zorua giggled and chased the pokémon around the small field they were standing in. Ash smiled, then realized what they originally set out to do.

"Hey Zorua, I'm gonna try to go find some more pokémon,"

Zorua looked up at Ash, "Oh, alright. Do you need me to come with you?" Ash shook his head and smiled at her, "No, just stay here and play. I'll be right back." Zorua just nodded and continued playing with Houndour.

As Ash walked alway from the pair, he could still hear them playing around. He smiled and continued walking. Eventually he came up to a small pond in the middle of a clearing.

Ash bent down, and looked into the water. He saw many Magikarp swimming around, along with a couple Poliwag. Ash thought to himself for a moment then nodded.

He stood up, and started walking back in the direction the apartment was. He searched for a bit, but ended up finding his good rod in the closet. He began walking towards the pond, and heard a rustling in the grass.

As he got closer, he also heard some giggling. When the pond came into view, he noticed Zorua and Houndour playing there.

"What are you guys doing here?"

Zorua looked up, "Oh, we saw you waking over here and thought you needed help. Then we saw you walked away soo~ we just kept playing here."

"Oh, alright. Well, I'll be over here if you need me." Ash said walking towards the pond. Zorua and Houndour followed behind him, and watch him curiously.

Ash cast a line out into the pond and waited a bit. Soon there was a slight tug on the opposite end. Ash began reeling it in, and soon the pokémon he caught was on land. A Goldeen was flopping around in the grass.

"A Goldeen?"

Zorua came up behind Ash and stared at the fish pokémon, "Wow, it's so pretty! Ash you have to catch it."

Ash looked down at Zorua confused, "But it's so, ordinary and common. I'm sure we could find a better water type."

Ash began to put the Goldeen back into the water when Zorua stopped him. "Please please pleaseeee! Can you just please catch it, for me?" She looked up at with a pouty lip.

Ash rolled his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Alright, fine. II'll catch the Goldeen."

Zorua jumped up from excitement, "Yay! Thank you Ash!" She then stood behind him, hopping up and down excitedly in place.

Ash turned to look at Houndour, "You ready to fight?" The Houndour barked gruffly and stood in front of Ash. Houndour was glaring at the Goldeen as it flopped around some more. Soon it noticed what was happening, and flopped around to face Houndour.

Both pokémon were glaring at each other, ready to start fighting. "Houndour, use bite!"

Houndour raced towards the Goldeen after hearing Ash's command. He bit the Goldeen hard on the tail. The Goldeen, after realizing what was happening, became angry. It began flailing around, making it difficult for Houndour to do anything.

Houndour let loose of the Goldeen, and in turn the Goldeen hit Houndour in the face with it's tail. Houndour became a bit dazed from the hit, "Houndour, use tackle!"

Houndour shook his head a bit, and attempted to tackle Goldeen. Although Houndour did have a bit of a running start, he missed and in turn, Goldeen stabbed him with it's horn.

Houndour yelped and ran back to Ash. "Don't worry Houndour, you got this! Try to use tackle again." Houndour ran at the Goldeen, and tackled it hard. It was just hard enough for Ash to be able to catch it. Ash pulled out a pokéball, and threw it at the Goldeen.

It tapped the pokémons head, and instantly sucked it into the pokéball. It rocked once, twice, three times.

A click was heard, indicating a successful catch. Ash smiled, and Zorua ran up and grabbed the pokéball off the ground and looked at it longingly.

Ash walked over and put his hand out, "Can I have it please?" Zoura looked at him, pouting. "I wanna play though."

"Zorua, it's a fish pokémon. It needs water, you can't play with it." Zorua pouted even more.

Ash smiled, "You can play when we get home, as long as you get it something to swim in."

Zorua's face brightened up, "Yayy! Thank you!"
