I stepped out of the cab with a tear stained face. I gave the driver a fifty and he returned a reassuring smile before driving off. I took a deep breath, then slowly proceeded toward the large, abandoned house.

It was a house that held the worst memories of my life. Memories that I still had nightmares about began to cloud my mind. I took my suitcase and stepped inside. "Hello?" I called out.

An older looking man trotted down the creaky staircase. He sported a button up with jeans and loafers. "Who might you be?" He asked with a smile.

"I-Imperia. My dad told me to meet him here, he said it was urgent. His name is Buoregard Hartley."

"Ah, follow me, ma'am." I picked up my suitcase and followed him up the stairs and down the hall. Soon, we came to a white door. "He is right past this door, go in when you're ready."

I slowly twisted the door nob. Once I opened the door, I saw my dad sitting amongst all the people who had kidnapped and raped me. My heart beat out of my chest. What was going on?

"D-Dad?" I croaked. Tears flowed down my eyes as fear settled within my lower stomach. "Sit down, honey." He held the guiltiest look he could muster up.

"NO! Not in a room filled with rapists! What the hell is going on?!" My heart began to hurt, it was like every emotion within me was being broken, only from the sight of him sitting amongst my enemies.

"Honey, you know how selfish I used to be and how I put the game before you and your mother. I loved you both, but not enough to stop my bad habits. And I was wrong for that-"

"Cut the bullshit, old man. Tell the ho the truth." One of the men interrupted.

My father sighed. "I loved the game so much and I felt that your boyfriend, Kairo was a threat to my value in the city. So, I paid them to take you so that his game would be thrown off and I could claim my territory. They gave me back some of the money since I would allow them to do what they wanted to you."

I broke down. I couldn't take anymore. My own father had betrayed me so that he could sin freely. I now knew I could never again trust him. "I got him locked up, also. I was just jealous. I'm sorry, babygirl." His lips trembled.

"I hate you. I hate you so much. How could you hurt me, dad? I loved you with everything in me. You were my role model, my hero, and my first heartbreak." I wailed.

"I'm so sorry, princess. I know I hurt you, but there's one more thing, and I'll let you leave. I know that's what you want. These are all the guys who had taken you and had a turn with you, and they're your brothers."

"So we're just gonna bust through the door? What if they're busy?" Danny asked.

"Nigga, I don't give a fuck! They got Imperia and as far as I'm concerned, she went against her own will. I could see it in her eyes."

"You sure you don't wanna knock?" Danny asked again. He was being a lil bitch.

"Listen here, lil bitch. How about you just look out?"

"Bitch? Put some respeck on my name, DAB!" He got out the truck and kicked the door open. It's about fucking time.

I walked in and he followed. We both heard crying upstairs. It sounded like my baby.

I immediately became angry. If anybody did something to her, I promise there would be hell to pay. I ran up the stairs, three at a time.

I took my gun out and walked to the room I heard the crying from. I saw Imperia leaning on the wall, breaking down.

I ran to her. "Baby, what's wrong?"

"Imperia, what's he doing here?"

"I'm her man, that's what I'm doing here. What happened?" I gave him a stank face.

"We were talking."

"About?"

"That's none of your business."

"Nice to meet you all, I'm Danny." I turned to look at him and he innocently shrugged his shoulders. He was breathing hard from all of the stairs.

"Come on baby, let's go." I picked her up in one swift motion and we walked out. She cried on my shoulder.

"Aye, Kairo, do I gotta sit in the back?"

I put Imperia in the front seat, answering his illogical ass question.

"What happened, love?" I asked, genuinely concerned.

"I got closure." She seemed out of it. "My dad was jealous of you. That's why I was taken by my half brothers and one of them is the biological father of Kinsley.. I want to kill myself knowing this type of stuff."

"My father set me up when I had nothing to do with his lack of success."

"Shots fired!" Danny announced.

I rolled my eyes. "They live there?"

"Yeah. Only for a month longer."

"That's all I need." I said, tightening my grip on the steering wheel.

"Emerson, you can't do that! That's cheating!" Kinsley stated.

"I do what I want. Like a boss."

I shook my head at the children. They were supposed to be racing and Emerson wanted all these head starts even though she was the oldest and fastest of the two.

"Emerson, play fair." I called.

"Fine."

This literally was like an awful birth week for me. The last thing I wanted to do was babysit.

Yet, I wanted Imperia to be okay, so I put myself to the side. No one else had an issue doing the exact same.

Soon, it had became too quiet for my own liking. I went to check on the kids in Emerson's room and the door was locked. "Emerson, sweetie, open the door."

"Okay mommy!" She giggled. "Hurry up!" She whispered.

"Emerson?..."

"Coming Mommy!" I heard a bunch of ruckus past the door. I know that room better be clean.

"Emerson!" The door swung open, revealing Emerson and Kinsley holding small jars.

"Mommy, we made you happy jars. I could tell you weren't really happy, so we wanted to give you this for your birfday."

I smiled, sitting with them both. I opened Emerson's and picked a piece of paper out.

I picked another.

I am thankfull for my mommy.

I picked up Kinsley's, and picked a piece of paper from it.

I had tears running down my face. This was so sweet, and so thoughtful. "Wow." My voice croaked.

"You like it?" They asked, hopefully. "I love it! Thank you guys. So much."

I hugged them both, kissing their forehead. My birthday wasn't so bad, after all.
