     Have you heard of this, “College life is a one of a torture!” a knees wobbling, nerves freezing phrase it is. But those words may set the truth.

     After the happiest days of your lives as a high school student, what comes next? Being a college student right? Are you ready for it?

     Did you ever experience saying one of this, “Ma! Yung baon ko po?”, “Ma! Naplansta mo na po ba yung uniform ko?”, “Ma! Asan na po yung medyas ko?”. You maybe laugh at yourself now because somehow you have said those words lot of times. It all happens when you’re in high school. But you do realize, when you enter to the world of college, world of where you are now force to reach the goals you have set in mind, you’ll learn to figure yourself more, the true and real you!

     Let’s all look onto someone’s Dairy. A diary where the person’s college life is written, where you could see how her life being college rock itself ‘til she learn to love this world.

Dear Diary,

Mom told me to choose what course to take. And I thought of it a lot of times. What’s the course I want? Honestly, I don’t know.

     Choosing the course you want. That’s pretty hard to think off. But the easiest way to know what course to take is ‘What do you love mostly doing?’ then after that, know what course your hobby fits in, and mind you, you’ll love studying it cause you love doing it at the same time. Next is ‘What’s affordable?’ why choose something you can’t pay off? If you could have something which is pocket weighting right? Right! It all depends on what your heart beats for and what your soul seeks for.

Dear Diary,

Why do I need to go college? I could work now. It’s an easy access to money. Why do my parents need to waste a penny?

     College, it is a scholastic level, which readies you for a way better future. Why say so? Here’s the thing, you go to college, graduate, find a proper job, and what’s next? Proving yourself to whomever you’ll be applying at, and surely, them knowing you Graduated College, hiring you will be one of their choices. Soon enough when you already establish who you are as a person and a worker, then you’ll be hired. Reason is, your diploma says it all.

New Classmates… How will I manage it? And how can I step up among others? I’m now getting confuse!

     A classmate is the person you need to learn to adjust with, just as same as your environment. Be friends with them. Remember to put in mind that you don’t need to be intimidated, each of you is different, from personality to skills. You’re all new to the surrounding; you’re all new to each other’s companionships. You maybe know, your classmates might thought of the same way you did. It’s in a matter of be yourself, adjusting yourself, take a risk, and ask for questions. Some of the professors believe in, “First impression last!”, whoever you are at first will remain who you are ‘til last, but of course you need to work for it, keep it the way it should be, and improve yourself, don’t be lock out. Learn to be adventurous and don’t ever be shy.

It’s hard to cope with my studies. I think I need a tutor here! And lots of professors are now turning into MONSTERS!

     Subjects, different as what course you’re in. Just so you know nothing is easy, but it won’t be THAT hard if you keep yourself SANE. And of course, study well. Try to sweat it under your armpit. Focus and review. Read and read. And AKS! Nothing’s to be afraid of asking, it’s one of the very good way of learning. Professors surely will be awed at you. They’ll know you as a student, who wants to learn at his or her subject, and that’s it, you’ll be friend with your professor, and always to keep in mind that, level yourself as a Student, never ever think of you can beat any of your professors. If so the professor is an inborn Terror face, then bring it on! Make him or her see what you’re made off. You’re on that University to learn not to be terrorized.

     Well of course, you’ll learn to love it! Why not? You’ll gain friends, experience and exposure. You’ll learn a lot, grow a lot and be yourself a lot than who you’ve thought you are. You don’t need to be afraid. Cause if you know what you’re doing and what for is it, and then you don’t need to pause and have a second thought. Just give your soul to what you want, ask for God’s assistance and be who you are. It’s the very key to success. And you’ll one day wake up, holding your College diploma saying, “Hey College! Thanks! I’m now ready for the real world!”
