Chapter 1
I pranced down the hallway of Mckinley High, swaying my hips. I welcomed the jealous stares and the lustful looks people were throwing at me. My lips curved slightly, knowing they couldn't get what I had.
"Enjoying the attention?"
My glossy lips broke into a big smile as soon as I heard that familiar deep voice. Turning back around, I ran up to Jace and jumped on him. I wrapped my legs around his waist.
"As always, I've missed you so much!"
He buried his face into the nape of my neck, inhaling my scent like he always did. "I've only been gone for a week, Anna. You really missed me that much, huh? I don't blame you though. You're not the only one, babe."
I got off of him and smacked him playfully. I sighed mentally. This kid is way too cocky for his own good.
"How am I even best friends with him? Pfft, what a player," I whispered to myself, while grabbing my books from my locker. I may be blonde, but I sure as hell have a higher IQ than most of the kids here. What can I say? What you reap, is what you sow.
"Hey! I heard that!" he whined, pouting. Aw, he's so damn cute. I wouldn't tell him though. I don't want his ego to grow bigger than it already is.
"Well, you're supposed to hear that." I smirked at him. We stared at each other-him pouting and me wearing a smirk-until we burst into laughter. He put his arm around my waist as we headed to class together, ignoring all the attention we were getting. What can I say? We are hella fine.
Cocky, I know. Can you blame me though? My momma taught me to never lie.

"Ms. Parker! Are you even listening? From what I've noticed, you've been off to Lala land since the start of class!" Mr. Williams, a fat, bold, stout man yelled, narrowing his eyes towards me. I looked around and noticed half of the class nearly falling asleep. I hated this guy ever since our first lesson together and I could tell the feeling was mutual. I always aced his tests. Why did it matter if I didn't listen?
"I'll start listening when you stop spit from flying out of your mouth every time you talk," I responded, causing the class to burst into laughter. I knew I would get into trouble for that, but getting on Mr. Baldy's nerves was definitely worth it. You must probably be thinking, 'a good girl answering back to her teacher?' Well, I was Anna Parker, and I brought being a 'good girl' to a whole new level. As long as you didn't mess with me, I was cool.
"Get out of my class!" he roared with his left eye twitching and veins popping on his bald forehead. I turned to Jace to see him red from laughing. Oh, sweet baby unicorn. My best-friend is so fucking hot. Oops, did I just think that? Never mind that part. ERASE. ERASE. You didn't hear that. You. Didn't. Hear. That.
I grabbed my book-bag and walked out of the room, but not before giving him a curtsy.
"Gladly."
I checked my watch to see that I still had twenty more minutes before lunch. Thanks to Baldy for that. He just saved me from his oh-so-boring lecture. I strolled down the empty hallway with my earphones on. I allowed the soft music to calm my nerves as I closed my eyes, and was completely in peace when I felt myself bump into something. I slowly opened my eyes, hoping to see a hot sex-god like in books, at least, not to embarrass myself. I groaned under my breath, and muttered some profanities when I saw that I bumped into an actual wall.
"D-did y-you just bump into a wall?" I snapped my head up only to see an undeniably hot unfamiliar guy leaning against the wall, laughing his ass off. His dark brown hair was styled in a messy way, his blue-green eyes gleamed in mischief with a hint of amusement in them, and his lips curved into a half-smile. His white v-neck shirt showed off the outline of his abs with his black leather jacket that hung loosely on his shoulder. From the looks of it, he was bad news. He was totally the type of guy my parents would ask me to stay away from.
I stood up, making myself feel dizzy in the process. "What a gentleman you are, laughing at a girl's mischief!" I said sarcastically, rubbing my temples.
"Oh, I don't see a lady here," he retorted. He raised his eyebrows as he crossed his arms over his chest, making his toned biceps bulge.
"Oh? I thought I saw a man here, but we're all mistaken at times." I threw him a smirk. Oh, poor little bad boy. Thought you could make me shut up that easily, huh?
He opened his mouth, but the bell cut him off. I guess it was safe to say that I was saved by the bell.
I walked away from him quickly, allowing myself to disappear in the sea of teenagers.
