A Lightning Bolt (Barry Allen x reader)

Chapter 1

     "Hey Barry?" You yelled. You, Barry, and Iris were gonna be late for the particle accelerator opening thing. To be honest you didn't really know much about what was a particle accelerator was, but since this was important to Barry, you and Iris were happy to tag along. 

     "Coming!" He yelled back. You looked over at Iris, you were both smiling. Barry was always tardy, to everything. He came running down the stairs,

     "You guys ready to go?" You and Iris just laughed.

     "This was your idea, and we've been sitting here waiting for you." You said, walking out the front door. 

     "Oh c'mon (Y/N) we aren't that late." Barry said. When we got to Star Labs you thought Barry was going to swoon. It was amazing to see the way his face lit up. God he was such a nerd, but he was cute. 

     "Oh my gosh-" Barry gasped,

     "-Iris, (Y/N) come look at this." He had the biggest smile on his face while he was showing you two this science geek thing. You would never admit it, but you have the biggest crush on Barry. Joe says that he "totally likes you" but he's probably just confused, Barry only thought of you as a friend, and you were fine with that. But, you just wished things could be different. Maybe someday. We listened to Dr. Wells give his speech and then they turned it on. Then some guy grabbed Iris's backpack and started running. 

     "My laptop! Barry it's got my dissertation." Barry looked at you and then started to run after the guy. 

     "Barry!" You yelled. You and Iris ran after Barry. When you got to him he was leaning against the wall. The guy had hit him. You ran around the corner and saw a guy point a gun at the thief. 

     "Stop! Or do you wanna find out the hard way you're not faster than a bullet?" We got Iris's laptop back and everything was okay. We were all hanging out back at the station.

    "So that's detective pretty boy?" Iris said looking over at the police officer who rescued her laptop.

     "What?" Barry asked. 

     "What? That's what my dad calls him." She said and put her hands up defensively. You smiled. Iris walked over to talk to her dad.

     "Well, it's been kind of a long day, I think I'm just gonna go home." You said. 

     "Okay I think I'm just gonna head back to my lab and work on some stuff." He said. 

     "Okay." He hugged you and you both walked away. You went back home, changed into your pajamas and put on the television. You were relaxed and about to fall asleep when you got a text message from Iris saying: Come to the hospital. It's Barry. You rushed down to your car and drove as fast as you could. Not caring about the police or even your safety. When you got there you ran into Iris and Joe in the waiting room. 

    "What is it what happened." You asked quickly.

    "He was struck by lightning."
