It hurts. Everything, every part of my body, hurts. It all went too fast. Neither of us could've done anything to stop it.

We were just talking, having a great time. Until something slammed into the car. The windshield shattered into pieces. Our heads slammed at the side of the car.

At that moment, I just thought "Let me live. I would do anything. I haven't done everything." I begged to whatever or whoever could read my mind or see my soul. Instead of my life flashing before my eyes, I saw everyone I will leave behind. My family, friends, everyone.

"Just please let me live!" I cried in my thoughts.

"You would do anything?" A voice echoed from nowhere. It was a deep voice of a man. The voice was frightening.

"Y-yes anything," I replied to the voice.
"Would you be anything?" He asked. A wave of confusion struck me. Am I not good? Am I not smart? Am I imperfect that I should change? "Would you be something like me?" He asked. Something like him? I didn't know what that meant but the atmosphere suddenly changed. I could feel that the person or creature was getting impatient. He wants an answer and he wants it now.

"Yes!" I screamed in my thoughts. I hopped the voice didn't leave me to die. I waited for an answer. Three, five, ten seconds passed and there was no answer.

I opened my eyes. Well, I thought they were my physical eyes. Everything was dark. My surrounding is empty.
Suddenly, a glowing red orb appeared. I stood up and walked towards it.

"Hello?" I said approaching it. It was a ridiculous thing to do, talk to a random floating orb, but what else am I suppose to do?

As I walked closer and closer towards it, I noticed it's rays were reaching out to me as well. I stopped just a meter from it and reached out my hand. Its rays starts to tangle between my fingers slowly.

"Wha-" I was mesmerized by it. It produced cool air as it continues to embrace my hand with its rays.

Once the rays completely covered my hand and parts of my wrist, it almost felt solid. I tried to spread my fingers, but I can't. I start panicking, pulling my hand from the orb's grip.

The orb, however, glowed brighter and brighter as I try to pull free. The light was too bright, I had to close my eyes.

"Let go of me," I said.

"Would you be something like me?" It said "Yes!" The orb repeated the lines from the deal. As soon as I realized this, I opened my eyes. I was, however, greeted by the blinding light of the orb as it embraces my entire body.

...

I didn't know. I didn't know who the voice was or what he is, but I kept my word. I am trapped in this deal for who knows how long.
