There are different types relationships in high school and very few make it all the way to marriage outside of graduation.
The first type is just settling, which is when it's a really hot girl/guy with a not so hot girl/guy. In this situation they are both really insecure about the way they look so they give each other little pep talks from time to time. Then the one that is hot starts talking and hanging out with other hot people, gets confident. After that happens the other girl/boy that is not so hot gets jealous. The results are not so hot girl/boy gets mad and breaks up or hot girl/boy cheats or gets tired of the jealousy going on and they break up.
The second type is the popular people that date each other just to get a higher ranking on the popularity board. They end up breaking up because they have nothing in common besides instagram and snapchat. The stay friends because they need to keep as many followers as possible.
The third type is clingy which is when one of the partners in the relationship can't deal with the other having any contact with people outside their little bubble with each other. They usually break up every three days because the one that wants a life tells someone, "hi". My friend Sam is in a relationship like that right now.
I turn my head and his girlfriend is yelling at him by her locker. Well, they lasted four days back together I would call that a new record. There are plenty more types like the senior pairs that make it all the way and then there are some that love cats more than other human beings.
I put my notebook in my locker and pull out my chemistry workbook. Some colleges actually have lockers and I am very thankful mine does. I turn my head back to Sam and his girl, otherwise known as Hannah. They are still fighting then she closes her locker and storms away. Sam lays his head on his girlfriends locker and punches it once. I would feel bad for him but they have done this about twelve times already.
Oh, and I don't date. Sorry, but that's just how it is and I know what your thinking. I'll give you a heads up, I'm allergic to cats so the cat lady thing isn't going to happen sorry to disappoint. I close my locker and walk over to Sam and smack him on the head.
"What the hell, I told you to stop doing that", Sam says as he rubs the back of his head and looks at me.
"You know I can't it's just to much fun", I flash a big smile at him and he roles his eyes at me. "So what happened with you and blondie", I say and point in the direction she stormed off in.
"She was mad at me for unhooking our hands to pick up Jessica's notebook for her after it fell on the ground", his bluish/green eyes look at the ground sadly. "So she broke up with me...", he's says then looks me in the eyes.
"Do you need a hug?", I say and pout my lip. He smiles the tiniest bit and pulls me into him and squeezes tight. I close my eyes and inhale his sent which is spearmint my favorite snow ball flavor of all time. He sighs and puts his head on top of mine. His.....ex-girlfriend has always been jealous of our friendship so he isn't allowed to talk to me but she can't control who he texts and calls on his free time (me). "So who's house are we watching chick-flicks and eating ice cream at this time", I say as my forehead rests on his shoulder. He chuckles and I feel his chest vibrate.
"I guess my house sense it has video games unlike yours", I can hear the smirk in his voice. I pull away a little to glare at him and he laughs and breaks the hug. "What you know it's true?", he says finally stops.
"Whatever I'll be there at 8pm and after that comment I want popcorn", I say then turn to walk away. I can hear his laughter ring in my ears and I smile and turn around as I reach my classroom door to look at him. He stands there staring at me with a huge grin and I feel butterflies in my stomach as I walk to my desk.
What? We're just really close friends.
