//later that day

the bell rings, notifying the school day is finally over. i sigh in relief as i exit the classroom and go straight to my locker. the day was going by extremely slow and the only thing to entertain me was ashton. every time i passed him in the halls, which isn't very often in one day, but every time we did id scan over his body and make sudden eye contact with him. then when we were in class he kept turning around to talk to me about meaningless things. he makes me feel special and i just hope to god he isn't doing the same thing to a million other girls.

as i put the useless textbooks back in my tiny ass locker and shut it, i am taken back when i turn around and instantly bump into ashton.

"oh god, sorry." i quickly apologize, looking up at him in embarrassment.

"it's all good." he laughs. im actually kind of shocked he's talking to me in school. i would expect him to ignore me since it's kind of weird for us two to be around each other. he's extremely popular and people in my grade barely know of me. "let's go." ashton smiles and begins to walk towards the closest door that leads us outside and i follow beside him. "i was wondering maybe we could hang out for a little bit." he squints his eyes because of the harsh sun light and smirks at me.

"ill have to tell my mom, but yeh. that sounds great." i smile, getting my phone from my pocket and texting my mom a simple 'going over a friend's house!' i don't really have time to go into detail that im hanging out with the babysitter she hired. she honestly probably won't mind, but it's better to just not mention it.

"yeh, i was thinking we could finish up what we started the day." he stares blankly at me and i swallow thickly. "how does that sound?"

i couldn't get words out of mouth so i just nodded. im an idiot.

"speak up princess." he nears me and i feel my face heat up.

"that sounds great." i happen to choke out.

"wonderful." ashton stares down at my lips, then back up to my eyes. "follow me to my car."

i follow beside him as we near a really nice car. im no car person, but i can confirm it must've been a pretty expensive one.

"how'd you afford this?" i question as he opens the door for me, being insanely kind.

"well, it's my cousin's old one and he sold it to me. it was a really good deal, let me tell you." he laughs, shutting my door and walking to the other side of the car.

once he's seated, he plugs his phone in the aux and shuffles a spotify playlist. the volume is a bit loud so he lowers it and chuckles, apologizing.

"it's alright." i smile sweetly.

"how was your school day?" ashton begins, pulling out of the school parking lot.

"not only was it insanely boring, but it also felt extremely long," i whine. "what about you?"

"my day was fine, im just fucking tired of high school." he looks over at me, making my heart actually stop.

"i feel you." i look away from his eyes, looking straight ahead.

"it's only your second year, darling." ashton laughs lightly. i feel a blush creep on my face, god these pet names have got me fucked up. "try being here for five."

"that must suck." i sigh. "it's my sophomore year and im sick of it, i'm so ready to be done with high school."

"how come? sophomore year was one of my favorite years." ashton furrows his eyebrows and makes short eye contact with me, due to having to keep his eyes on the road.

"i don't know, im in mostly advanced classes and they give out a ton of work so that's difficult. my friends are kinda sucky and my mom is never home to you know, be a mom. i don't really know what im gonna do with my life and im stressed over the tiniest things. i just can't wait to be so far away from all of it." i explain. "sorry, i didn't mean to get all emotional about my life."

he chuckles, "its fine, my life ain't perfect either so i can relate."
